If you're wondering whether you should book through Alma Tours, do it! It's worth every penny! Miguel was our guide, and treated our group of 7 adults like family. He speaks perfect English, and gave us just the right amount of information at each site we visited. He answered every question, and helped us improve our Spanish (and some Mayan on the side!). He never said "this is where X happened in the Book of Mormon", but instead conveyed information from various LDS scholars and theories, letting us draw our own conclusions. He also gave us a good dose of colonial history. His mom, Alma, started the tour company, and now it's a family business. As a native to the area, Miguel knew the best place to eat in each city. He worked very hard to make our experience perfect, and was flexible each day to let us choose our own adventure. I would do it again, 100% and recommend it to anyone. Stop reading and just do it!

We absolutely loved Tour 1. It included Tulum, Chichen Itza, and a cenote. Our tour guide Mario was amazing! I felt completely safe the entire time. He knows where the best place is to buy souvenirs, tells you when you need masks and when you can take them off which is nice in the humidity, takes you to clean bathrooms, and seemed to know everything about the ruins! Every question I asked he was able to answer. I wish we had more time With him at each ruin because I know he was so knowledgeable. Everything we learned was so neat! Honestly this tour strengthened my testimony of the Gospel. I loved that it was an LDS tour. Mario even Included his testimony and a little Challenge at the end that I thought was really powerful. (I can’t speak highly enough if him) He also spoke perfect English which I really appreciated. Sometimes you have to really focus to understand someone, but not him, he sounded like an American. The Buffet of this tour was also really good! They had a huge fruit bar, rice, beans, tacos, chips, and some other more adventurous foods. I absolutely recommend making time for a tour! I wish we had gone to the other two that are near Cancun.

I recommend a ball cap and sun glasses. Something I was pleasantly surprised by is you don’t have to take your backpack in the ruins. We left them in the van. So don’t worry about packing heavy snacks or change of clothes because you only take it in to the cenote to change (they have locking lockers there too while you’re swimming) I wished I had taken my Fanny pack for the ruins for my phone and wallet. It is very hot. And you’ll do a fair amount of walking. But it is so worth it! Just know you get to jump in a cenote at the end so you will eventually cool off!

We toured as a family of 8 (6 adults 2 kids) to Ek Balam, Chichén Itzá and the Cenote Ik Kil. Mario was a fantastic tour guide and we appreciated his enthusiasm to help us learn more about the connections between these amazing historical sites and the Book of Mormon. To say that this tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Cancún would be an understatement. From start to finish, Alma’s LDS Tours provides a great experience. I highly recommend booking a tour through them when visiting Cancún. These tours are a must do!

We have previously booked tours with Alma’s when traveling with our kids but this was our first tour with just adults. Once again, Alma’s exceeded all our expectations. We have already visited Chichen Itza & Tulum so they made a custom tour itinerary that made for the best day of our trip. Vanessa timed everything perfectly so we avoided all crowds & were the first at pretty much every location. Great day!

My family and I have done several tours with Alma's LDS Tours, the most common have been to Chichen Itza (even by plane) and Tulum, so this time we wanted to do another of their tours that did not include Tulum or Chichen Itza. To our surprise they have a tour called Tour 22. Coba, and Ek Balam ruins. We made the necessary arrangements to participate in that tour. My husband and I have 3 children under 5 years old and the three of them really enjoyed the bike ride in the ruins of Coba, for them it was an incredible experience to explore the jungle (obviously the ruins did not attract as much attention as it did for us) . As parents, we greatly appreciate the fact that our guide included our children in the explanation of what we were seeing. Ek Balam simply has no words to describe the majesty that it is.
For people traveling with small children who want to do a tour of two sites, be prepared with toys, snacks and entertainment for the children because it is a long day, but it is totally worth it.

We are very grateful for all the work that Alma's LDS Tours does, from the first call to ask for information, the attention provided by the sales office, the information offered by the logistics office (the day before our tour they sent us an email with information on what time they would pick us up and recommendations) and the excellent service of the guides.

Thank you very much for everything and we hope to return very soon.

We had booked tours with Alma’s in 2020, but had to cancel due to COVID. They held our payment and reservations for two years and let us redeem them during Spring Break this year with no issues!

We took two full-day tours, one to Chichén Itza/Ek Balam and another to Tulum/Coba. Ek Balam was my personal favorite site as a “newer” ruin that is well-preserved with fascinating corollaries to LDS beliefs. It’s also a site where visitors can still climb the pyramids. German was our guide on both days, and he was extremely personable and gracious. Our family counts him as one of our own now!

We also used Alma’s for our airport pickup/drop off and everything was very smooth. Five stars all the way around!

We booked a private tour for 10 family members to visit Chichen Itza, Tulum, and to swim in a cenote. Our guide German was amazing - very friendly and knowledgeable! Though it made his day longer than planned, he allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted at each location. His explanations of everything we saw were very enlightening. We highly recommend Alma's LDS Tours. They even picked us up for church services on Sunday, at our request. Our day with German as our guide was the highlight of our trip to Playa del Carmen.

I hope this review will help other travelers know timeframes before you book a tour with Alma’s Tours and hope business practice will improve. We had a group of 10 book the Chichen itzá tour. One person in our group was messaged the day before the tour, informing them the drive would be 4.5 hours one way! Everything we had researched previously stated 2.5 hours. So for an 11 hour excursion, 9 would be spent driving and 2 at the site and a cenote. We felt mislead. The most disappointing thing was that the company would not refund our money. They offered to take us to a closer ruin, Tulum, on a specific day that we already had another excursion planned. We would have loved to have taken the Tulum offer, but couldn’t. They would not work with us at all about a full or even partial refund. BEWARE before you book anything. (The tour was highly recommended, heard the Mexican guides are amazing. Management could use a lot of help back in Provo utah)

We booked two excursions and the airport shuttle with Alma's LDS Tours.
Our guide Luis took us to Chichen Itza & Cenote. He was just amazing. Super friendly and his knowledge and way of delivering the information is fantastic.
German was our guide for Tulum & Xcaret. Once again... amazing. Super friendly, a wealth of knowledge and just a pleasure to be with.
Timing was always spot on with Luis and German. We arrived before the rush (no lineups) and left walking along huge lines of visitors.

Although we are not LDS we wholeheartedly recommend Alma's LDS Tours for any excursion.
Fantastic all the way!

And a special thank you to Luis and German. You both helped create lasting memories.
