Such an amazing experience. The bus picks you up right in front of your hotel and drops you off there afterwards. Sandwiches, fruit and beverages were provided at the pier. There were also bathrooms at the location.
Brandon was the best he made everyone feel so comfortable, even the weak swimmers in our group felt safe with him leading the way. He got us right next to the whale sharks. We saw manta rays on our trip too!
Unfortunately almost everyone on the boat got sick. It is kind of a trek out to where they are (1:45 plus time looking for them) and the water is choppy but if you can bare the ride I highly recommend this excursion. Also once your in the water the seasickness goes away.
They stopped at Isla Mujeres and we spent about an hour hanging out in waste deep water and enjoying the ceviche that was prepared right on the boat.

We had a great time seeing the whale sharks and manta rays, but they fell short on taking care of us as vegetarians....

The trip was really long, and during the online booking process we are prompted to note whether or not we have any dietary needs considering that they provide food and snacks during the very long day. Despite being very clear that we are both vegetarians, the company failed to prepare food for us despite us paying the same amount that everyone else pays for their experience.

As a result, we were famished by the time everyone else had at least a few things to eat. The crew did their best to make us some emergency guacamole at the very end of the trip, and I don't blame them for not being notified. Team Scorpion was wonderful and very knowledgable, and they were really dedicated to us having an awesome experience despite it being the end of the season. There was only one whale shark spotted the entire day, but we had a few chances to dive with it, which was breathtaking.

If we would have been taken care of as vegetarians, then it would have been a 5 star review.

Thank you again for a great day!

We had a great day! Loved everything about it. Our guides were professional-yet fun and experienced! The ocean was rough the day we went out, but our captain navigated the rough waters with ease and care. And, yes, you are going to get wet; you are on a boat in the ocean, that is how it goes! The whale sharks were amazing and I’m so glad we were able to see them in the wild! We ended the day with a trip to Isla Mujeras and snorkeling, which was also a great experience. Finally, we opted to buy the videos and pictures of our adventure and I’m so glad we did; our family and friends have really enjoyed seeing the footage of our adventure!

Firstly, this is not a tour FROM Cozumel. You have to get a taxi yourself to get to the ferry. You have to get the ferry yourself to get to playa del Carmen. You have to wait for a random man NOT wearing the company uniform who does NOT have a sign with your name to walk a very long way to a waiting van full of people. Then drive an hour or more to Cancun.
Once actually connected with the tour group, they are pretty good. Our captain and mate were excellent but I was not prepared for the physical demands of this activity. You have to climb then perch on the side of the boat then leap in for each entrance to the water. Then swim hard because these sharks are faster than they seem. Then you have to climb fully out of the water and over the side of the boat on a ladder. Well worth it to swim so close to the sharks but be prepared!
The size of the group is perfect and the small, open boat was excellent. The lunch was great.
Riding back to playa del Carmen, then getting the ferry, then getting a taxi, while still wet was not awesome.
I would recommend this activity but I think the company can be a little more transparent with how it prepares you ahead of time. If you can ferry to isla mujeres and go out to the sharks from there, you will save yourself hours of travel and headache.

Amazing experience that not many people can say they have been able to do. The staff were all amazing and informative and attentive. They did their best to ensure everything went well and that everyone was able to to swim with the whale sharks.

Highly recommend going during peak whale shark season and you will be able to see many many whale sharks. We saw about 30ish whale sharks.

Also take anti-motion sickness pills prior to leaving the dock even if you don’t get seasick normally. The waves can be choppy and rough and it can take a bit of time to find the whale sharks.

We would like to thank Annette, Issac, and Nate for being amazing guides and providing excellent service.

I was unsure to take the tour, because when I call them they let me know that weather was not that great, but this was my gf longtime dream, and since I wanted to propose on the night i though it might be a good idea to check this out of her list before asking the question, fortunately we did manage to swim with them, we did get dizzy but seeing them in person OMG Completely worth it!.

I would definitely recommend this guys, they know what they are doing and were very attentive to everyone in the boat. Btw she said YES!!!!

This was a bucket list item for me and it didn't disappoint! I did it with my sister and two friends and we all had an amazing time. We did not use the transportation option and arrived to the marina pleasantly surprised by the beautiful facilities. Breakfast options were out, as well as coffee. We had paid in full so we signed waivers and gathered our sunblock and sunglasses: the only things you need to bring. Nick and John were the best! John seemed to be an expert captain. The trip was about an hour and 20 minutes out and the boat was comfortable. He navigated the group of boats and people at the site very comfortably and seemed completely confident. Nick clearly knew the best times to get us in the water an dhow to direct us. He made us feel safe navigating around the whale sharks and the many boats and people at the site. After about an hour and 15 minutes at the site and two times in the water for everyone, we went to a beach offshore of Isla Mujeres. Nick and John prepared cantaloupe, ceviche, and guacamole, all of which were delicious. On the way back we stopped at a beautiful snorkel site and got in about 20 minutes of snorkeling. We would absolutely do it again and are so thankful for the experience!

Wow! This has been on my bucket list for years. I booked with this company because of the small group size and that they leave earlier than other boats. This was crucial because you rotate 2 at a time. If you have a large group you get way less time in the water with these awesome creatures. Getting out early was nice as well, when we arrived we were one of 3 boats in the area. By the time we were done there were 10-15 other boats, so I appreciated getting there a bit early. We stayed in Riviera Maya and our driver Franco picking us up promptly at 6am. We drove 1 hour to Playa Mujeres where we caught the boat. Our guides for the day were Toto and Esteban. They were incredible! We had one 7 year old and 2- 12 year olds on the boat, and Toto was awesome with them in the water and made them feel extremely comfortable. Esteban the captain was an awesome navigator, he moved around constantly to get us in a direct path with a whale shark swimming right toward us. All of us when we jumped in would be within feet of the whale shar. He was by far the best captain on the water that day. After we each got several encounters with the whale sharks we headed to Isla Mujeres. Toto and Esteban made us seriously the best ceviche we have ever had, everyone is still talking about how we are going to replicate making it, not sure we can. Last stop was snorkeling in reef just off the coast where they picked us up. Toto was in the water with us the entire time leading us to massive amounts of fish. This was the best day ever! I already want to do it again. Request Toto and Esteban they will make it incredibly special!!!!

The operator cancelled the tour the day before and did not care to provide any solutions. According to them, they had to cancel an 'entire week' because the crew 'needed to rest' and they had to 'clean up the boat'.

For a tour costing no less than 175$/person, I would expect more, especially in terms of planning the season and managing the customers.

I do not recommend at all this tour operator.

This tour was absolutely amazing! My husband and I both have wanted to do this forever, and we have now decided we are going to do this every time we can. Our guide was Brandon and he filmed some stunning video of my husband that made this worth every penny.

There was a small lull where no sharks where seen, however everyone on our boat still got 3 dives (they promise two if possible) on our third we asked if we could dive with a manta and they provided!

The boat ride is long going out, take medication if you are prone to sea sickness, however do not let this deter you from going.
