About
Coco Bongo is one of Cancun’s best nightlife spots which will wow you with its unique line-up of shows and entertainment. Catch spartans performing stunts during ‘300’, sing along to classic hits during ‘The Beatles’, or marvel at a light show during ‘Queen’—complete with confetti and balloons falling from the ceiling. It’s Las Vegas meets Cirque Du Soleil at its very best, but with an open bar. Coco Bongo Cancun is conveniently located in the heart of Hotel Zone. Regular tickets are for standing only; for a seat, snag a Gold Member Pass or Front Row Pass. – Tripadvisor

    New Year’s Eve Party
Don’t pay the advanced fee you’ll get in within a reasonable amount of time the show started at 11 PM and everyone was sure to be inside nobody missed it despite the pressure put on you by people trying to sell you express entrance tickets outside. It was extremely crowded inside and I am sure they were overcapacity so if you’re looking for a classy event where you don’t wanna get your shoes dirty this would not be it. The staff are keen on getting people from the audience to come up and be on stage if you’re into that it’s a great photo op but if you’re not just politely decline them, although them choosing to ask you to come up on stage is usually a compliment! We managed to sneak away I’ve been to a VIP area but it is only because we got lucky. It would be better to come here on a regular night and I imagine it wouldn’t of been so packed. Staff do a good job at directing traffic once you’re inside because you’re literally shoulder to shoulder with people until the show is over.

    Fun night
A group of three of us wanted to go out for a night while visiting Cancun. We purchased tickets from someone at our resort which was probably a mistake because we had to end up canceling that night and she charged us each extra money to change the tickets. Long story short for $35 which was the original price you receive open- bar plus admission to the club. We went on a Tuesday night for a few hours and it was fun the music was great and it wasn’t packed at all. There’s a ton of places on this strip and they all looked like fun :)

    Worth every penny
Went on a Monday night, bought Gold Member tickets because I didn’t want to deal with crowding issues mentioned in other reviews. It was worth every penny, truly the best club experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been to clubs across the world. This is a hybrid club/show experience and it keeps you entertained for every moment you’re there. With the Gold Member we had an excellent view of the stage and the drinks kept flowing all night, our waiter kept them coming without us even asking for refills. The dancers are top notch and the performances are one in a lifetime. If you’re in Cancun do yourself a favor and go see this show, you will not regret it. If you’d rather avoid feeling suffocated by the crowd and having to stand all night, upgrade to the Gold Member, it is worth every penny.

    Total rip-off
The people at Cocobongo oversells this place. We were a big group (18 of us) made a reservation with time and paid $120 per person. We were supposed to have an area reserved only for us but what we got was an area that seemed like a freeway. All people entering the place will pass by our area and block the view to the stage, so you end up looking at people’s backs rather than the show, but t was not only the people entering the place but also the staff will come, stop in front of us to watch the show (sometimes there were 5 of them), so again, they blocked our view and didn’t even care. When we asked them to have the people move they say they couldn’t do it (even when some people where practically in our laps). Our waiter was doing his best to get the people to move but he couldn’t do much. The show was ok but not worth $120, maybe $20 or $30, no more. There were so many people that we were afraid that if there was a fire or other kind of emergency we will be trampled to our death. More and more people kept on entering the place and there was no stop, I don’t think the owners should be allowed to get so many people in such a small place. The worst thing, to leave the place you have to cross the overcrowded dance floor. I do know now how sardines may feel! This place is horrible! Avoid the aggravation and don’t go to Cocobongo. We had more fun the night before at Monkey Business and they don’t charge to get in, you only pay for your drinks.

    Nice club with great shows
Coco Bongo is a party place for tourists and locals. The night we came they were charging 50$ US for open bar per person. The weekend we came was when the Corona Virus started to be very serious and we noticed the club was not very busy. This place has great entertainment shows and great music. It may get a bit wild. There is a lot of alcohol because it’s open bar; you pay one fee and young party goers get very loud. I recommend you watch you drink and be safe because open bar sometimes makes us drink out of control and being a tourist in another country like in Cancun Mexico may be unsafe if you do not have all your senses in control.

Best experience & Gold Member Ticket!
We went to coco bongo while in Cancun in December. Friends of ours had recommended getting the gold membership- wow what a show! The performance is fantastic. Such a production. We paid $155 USD through our hotel (same price on the coco bongo website) and I personally think the gold membership is worth the money as you get a seat at a table and have drinks brought to you. We tipped after the second round of drinks and this definitely helped with how promptly we were served. Downstairs in the general admission area it was extremely crowded and lines for drinks were long which would impact on your viewing. Such a fun night out in Cancun and deffs a must do activity! Such talented people at coco bongo.

    A unique club
Simply spectacular. It is worth paying the regular price. Inside the club they wanted to sell us a table for $120. That is not worth it. When we got out of the taxi, a girl asked us if we had tickets, got us 2 and made us pass without waiting (there was a line of 20 people). The disco closes at 4 am, it is worth going at 11 to not miss any shows.

A place NOT to be in your vacation list
The place that I visit on Saturday with a “gold” entrance is the worse invest in vacation activities that I did in long time. The place was packed of people and is impossible to enjoy the show because was insufficient the air condition, the people is pushing, passing with beers and drinks and splashing you and there is no space to dance. The small portion of the show that the conditions allow me to see was nice, maybe off season and week days can be a good option.

    Fun place good music
We came a few times while in Cancun. You have to order food if you want to drink, so I can say the guacamole is very good! The service was decent and the music good. We were going to check out the club upstairs but every time we tried to get in we were told VERY different amounts. Once was $100 another time was $500 per person, so we passed.

    Super packed!!
I went to Coco bongo with my boyfriend and got the regular admissions but the amount of people that they stuff inside this place is absurd! I couldn’t even order a beverage because I was scared I was going to fall out of my hand as people kept passing by I was squished the whole time I Alamo’s fell back into the stairs of the VIP people. If you people are going to go make sure you have enough money to spend to pay for the gold seating area. Also the workers said that the leftover beer is put in a bucket and it’s served in another cup for somebody else. DISGUSTING!!

Let’s start it with the negatives. We purchased 4 Front Row tickets, cost about $156 per ticket totaling around $627USD. According to their website via customer service, the front row tickets include 15 PREMIUM DRINKS. However what they fail to tell you is that, Don Julio and Patron is not included in the premium drink option.... ok?? If they told us up front, we would’ve purchased a VIP table, which costs $658 plus 2-3 bottles according to their customer service, via the website. We had to pay an extra $300.00 because why? We didn’t want cheap liquor and we bought 2 bottles of don Julio costing us an additional $150 per bottle. We also didn’t get any snack that was promised on the ticket as well. And the waiter service included with our purchase wasn’t the best. He was barely around. We spent a total of $927 in this establishment. Online customer service and via person service are two different services and they do not communicate with each other. We were told certain things were included in the ticket online, and in person, they told us certain things weren’t included with the ticket. BUMMER.

Positives: the show was fantastical!!! There is limited capacity because of covid, so we purchased our tickets in advance(didn’t work out great). You are able to buy tickets at the door for an up charge of $4. The show ran from 8pm-12am. Which was nice, it was entertaining all night. They hassle you to buy shots(smirnoff) and photos throughout the night. We purchased one photo. It kind of felt like I was at a basketball game. They did a kiss camera throughout the night as well. It’s a combo of cirque du soleil, mixed with live action movie, and a concert. They went through popular artists, movies, shows. I really enjoyed myself. I would recommend anyone go to Coco bongo atleast once in their life. They do the same shows throughout the Caribbean. It was a great time.

Went on a Gold Pass that we bought at the Hotel which included a seat and free drinks. Wasn’t cheap but needed to see what all the fuss was about and in fairness the show itself was very good. A waiter also made sure we had drinks all night with little or no waiting to be fair.
What was annoying though was the constant pressure to sell you upgrades and be careful of the women who come around with shots as they charge you 5 Dollars a shot despite all drinks supposedly being free.
All in all worth a visit with the acts being very good but let down by the constant pressure to upgrade or being given drinks that turn out not to be included which they don’t tell you and then ask for money.

I was told by so many people before coming here that I needed to go to this place and I am so glad I did. We booked VIP tickets through our hotel which were about £100 each but that was such great value. Upon arrival the service was brilliant and the entertainment was possibly the best I have seen and I go to a lot of London West End shows. When I return to Cancun I will be coming back here simply amazing.
