It appears this is the preferred ferry ride to the Dolphin Discovery on ISLA MUJERES. This is NOT ULTRAMAR. We got there for the 9am departure to be greeted by a lady who was shouting at folks as they approached the+pier. We were shuffled into a small area to line up, and were strictly told only one person from the family to enter the line. The rest of everyone were to huddle up further along the pier. Despite the six feet apart Covid instructions that were visible everywhere lots of people complied. We stood aside with our two kids and waited while my husband inched up in the line. Of course this lady returned to our spot several times to shout and glare at us even though we were no obstacle to anyone. Upon facing a representative I approached. Because my husband did not purchase the dolphin encounter tickets, and was unaware that we were on,y paying $15. And no picture package. As soon as approached I was greeted with a wide smile. And when we declined the package all friendliness and manners from the staff disappeared. Anyways we were happy to get across to the island safely. As the crew looked dishevelled and only wanted to entertain the young girls. Return on last shift is 5:30 sharp. And since these are inflexible people make sure you are there to get back to Cancun mainland. Pity we took this one, because closer to villa del Palmar resort hotel was another pier with what I have been told is a hands down better experience with lots of amenities and friendlier people.

It’s nice, it it’s a public beach. The only nice thing are the Cancun colored letters to take pictures with family and/or friends. Beautiful, but if you go on weekend days, it will be filled with people making it hard to enjoy the view or the walk.

a wise man once said "I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating… and it gets everywhere." and i agree with him it is rough it is coarse and it gets everywhere so it ruined my entire trip i went here on the last day of my holiday and this sign ruined it.

This is more on the north side where you 'll find less tourist. Isla Mujeres ferry also departs from here. We came here by R1 bus. R1- R2 are so frequent in the hotel zone. You can easily find this beach unlike beaches in the hotel zone.
Water is warm, slow waves, you can go 5-6 feet deep down the sea. Good for swimming but this beach is not that big. One side terminal and another side big hotel that leaves less area for swimming.
Bathrooms are available here to take q quick shower. Thatched umbrellas are also here and did I add Cancun sign. The world knows Cancun sign at Playa Delfines beach, but this beach has also same Cancun sign. Palm trees, thatched umbrella, and sea make it more photogenic.

Yes, it's nice, but once I got off the bus I spotted danger. While walking to the beach I saw a young boy sitting down, once I and my family passed him up, he started to follow us. I kept my eye on him with my shades like a K-9. This kid acted like he was going to the beach, yeah right. You can't hustle a hustler, I knew he was up to no good, so I decided to turn back and leave. Instead, I returned to playa Tortugas, where it's semi-safe cause they have cops right outside the parking lot. I spoke with a cop about the incident, and he told me they encounter reports at Playa Langosta and Las Perlas lately, thiefs are call as runners. They'll wait for you to go all the way into the ocean, and they'll snatch your belongings and run away. Also, they have no bathrooms or food whats so ever. Just Stay Away from here, Period

Playa Langosta is a clean, relaxing, family friendly public swimming beach (no fighting the waves). It is a very calm clear Caribbean blue water to go for the day and enjoy. We were there during the holiday week and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Tip - go to hotel Casa Maya on the right or east side of the beach from the parking lot and have breakfast, lunch, or drinks and they can set you up with chairs and an umbrella for the day at no extra cost. Wish we had known this before we ate lunch as we had already acquired one down the beach from another source. It would have been so nice to be right there for more cocktails, snacks, etc. Public bathrooms with showers and feet rinsers were also there in parking lot...so nice.

Nice beach, perhaps one of the best in Cancun. I liked it because there were not so many tourists - mostly Mexicans. No shaddow of course, but you can rent umbrella. No worry for food and drink - there is a bar....

We visited this beach after finding the 5* reviews on trip adviser. We were staying in a luxury 5* hotel with a beautiful white beach but sadly also sargassum that made swimming in the sea impossible.
We paid for a taxi and had high expectations due to the reviews but were badly disappointed.
What we found was a scruffy beach in a rough area with mainly cheap plastic chairs and tables. We walked further down and found a basic 3* resort namely the Casa Maya hotel. We were told by the waiter Enrique that we could pay $15 dollars each for basic sun beds and a parasol and that we could have food and drinks to the same value.
We normally would have found somewhere else as this looked scruffy and uncomfortable but were stranded there without any transport. We decided to stay and when we paid the waiter Enrique, he then upped the price due to the “exchange rate” think he added his own commission!
There was a menu for food that wasn’t appealing but no drinks menu, so we asked him the cost and he advised the cocktails were all the same price, but could have what we wanted.
We didn’t stay long as this was uncomfortable, unclean and there were also almost constant people selling stuff. We went in the sea and had two rounds of drinks, carefully calculating the costs that would be included in what we had already paid and inclusive.
When we finished these drinks we slowly felt and made our way back to the car park to order a taxi to collect us. However we were stopped by 2 security guards running after us and shouting at us. We immediately stopped and was concerned as they had raised the alarm and all the people on the beach were then watching us like we were criminals.
They said that we had not paid for our drinks, that we denied and told them it was all inclusive. The hotel waiter then come running up and said we had not paid. I told him we had paid and went through the prices with him as he had advised us and showed him that we didn’t actually owe anything.
This waiter Enrique then looked sheepishly and told us that actually the last cocktail I had cost $5 more. I told him that if that was the case he should have told us that and I asked why there were no drinks prices or menus that he couldn’t answer.
Enrique tried to get us to go back to the resort and with the security staff, hotel management and all the locals watching this was highly embarrassing. We gave him the 5$ and walked away, he didn’t look impressed as we didn’t tip him!
This distressing event spoilt our holiday, if you are staying at one of the luxury 5* resorts in Cancun don’t go here expecting 5* luxury as it’s shabby, uncomfortable with waiters that make up the prices as they go along to no double line their own pockets.
Just dreadful!!!

We spent a day here after researching how to get a sun bed in Cancun if you weren't staying on the beach. The little beach, next to Hotel Casa Maya, has sun beds, chairs, tables and umbrellas to hire. Although there is no shop or bar, the toilets are very clean. We got a taxi from downtown (about 150 pesos) and spent a lovely day at the beach.

The area of the beach we hung out in was very shallow. We could see the fish without having to wear goggles. We went early in the morning so it wasn't crowded at that time. They do have shower and rinsing facilities. There's a playground area, which we didn't use. There's also a Cancun sign here to take pix with and this location was not nearly as crowded as there one at Delfines Beach!
