My family went on the Cocoon with Maximo and Kevin while in Cancun for a reunion. We had 15 people, mostly teenagers, but also a 9 year old and 85 year old.
We all had an excellent time and Mario was very responsive with me while planning the trip. He made it easy and totally customized the trip for us. He also helped arranged very affordable transportation to and from our hotel.
Nautica prices things a la carte and by person, rather than by hour, so it is possible to have a more affordable trip on the Cocoon. It is a also a slightly older boat, but by no means uncomfortable at all.
The boat has an upper layer where the captain drives the boat, with cushions to lay on, which is an added bonus I haven’t seen on any catamarans I’ve been on.
Kevin, the first mate, injured himself on the trip and was bleeding while we were anchoring the boat. We were all very worried for him but he made the experience really fun regardless, acting as our chef, bartender, snorkeling guide, and first mate for the whole trip. At the end, the teenagers were chanting “kevin is the man”..... needless to say, it was a memorable trip.
They also barbecued skewers and burgers which were delicious!!!
