One can get there easily by using the common white “combi’s”. They are vans that take up to 8-10 riders for 8 pesos each. They’ll drop you off about a quarter mile away and you must walk the remaining way. It’s a straight line from there. Just ask anywhere where to pick them up. I believe it must say “Atache” (or something like that) on the front.
Otherwise a taxi there and back. One can also walk back using your gps. It’s a great walk through narrow meandering streets down to the city center.

The statue itself is about 6 or 7 meters high.
Perhaps it’s more exciting for the religious folks.
It’s sort of like a super mini Christ that’s in Brazil.

This place offers the best view of the town, but there's not much else to do; you can admire the view and snap some great pictures but in average you will not be here more than 20 minutes. It's hard to get therw driving, the best way to arrive is by taxi. There is no entrance fee.

I visited this beautiful city because I do know people who live there. So getting here we parked and walked up, but there are plenty of taxis who will take you up there and even a few at the top you who are waiting to give rides as well. We took a little lunch with us and ate some tacos de chuleta from a restaurant located in la plazuela and a big 3 liter of Yoli. There was a taxi driver there who was offering to take all of our pictures for us and he did know all the best angles so we let him and then tipped him a few pesos also. The view of city from up here even during the day is beautiful. Definitely recommend this while you are visiting.

We had a very entertaining drive up the mountain in a taxi (130mxn from and to the Saturday tianguis, with the driver waiting to take us back down).

The Cristo is pretty impressive, but as noted by others the view is amazing.

Our taxi driver set us up for photos "hugging" the Cristo, "holding hands" with the Cristo, and "holding" the Cathedral. That was fun to do and they came out nice.

Ok...the view is amazing. We tried to walk up there.

I would suggest not being cheap and taking a taxi for a round trip deal for 100 pesos (5 usd).

Because that climb sucks.

Amazing view.

Every time we visit Taxco, we go up to Cristo. It has such beautiful views of the city. Cristo is getting a little old and the last time there, one of his hands had fallen off. Still a muct see.

Great view the taxi took us right to this location and waited for us as we looked and took pictures, afterwards took us to the Zocalo, the plaza where the church is Prisca, all for 50 pesos.

This is definitely a must see and do, but the visit is relatively quick.

There is a snack vendor there sells sliced fruit, I only saw pineapple and other snacks , FYI.

Very safe and beautiful view.

It's not Rio de Janeiro - don't expect mind blowing panorama. It's just a panoramic point with a nice view, perfect place to start walking throught the winding Taxco streets. The best way to get there is to catch VW taxi as it's quite uphill. Ride through the very steep and narrow streets to the statue is fun itself.

Our driver took us here in his vehicle but given a chance I would rather climb from the city center to see this beautiful monument. The views from the hill are breathtaking. Great panoramic view of the city of Taxco and vicinity!.
