About
Bazarte is an enterprise dedicated to the rescue of the textile art from the Chiapas Heights region. Therefore, we foster the selling of handmade textile captured in original articles as handbags, wallets, men, women and children clothes, as well as footwear and accesories. All of our products are hand crafted by our local artisans, they only use the highest quality materials, after Bazarte approves them. That is why every product is completely unique, you will not find a repeated design. We invite you to visit us in our 3 different locations at Downtown San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas: General Utrilla 18, 20 de Noviembre 7, Real de Guadalupe 11.

Bazarte has several stores in San Cristobal de las Casas and both locations that I visited were excellent. Beautiful clothing and artisanal items were offered at both locations. I found the quality of the items to be very good and the costs to be affordable based on the quality. I would highly recommend this store.

With three stores in the tourists area, they all have very nice and beautiful selection of clothing, bags and accessories original from the region. Yes, it's a lot more expensive than buying from street vendors, but the quality seems better and credit cards are accepted. Bad point, many cloth models come only in one size. The clerks are helpful looking for options. Beware, bargaining with them is futile.

It is awesome that you actually visited our 3 stores, which as a matter of fact is a great idea since they have different products and models. All of our products are handmade so it is complicated for us to offer all the models in all the sizes. We are comitted with our artisans, thus we provide fair work and trade conditions and in return ask for better quality and finish. You can buy an scarf at the streets for 5 dollars, that is a 5 days task for one artisan.

This store caught my eye on the way to and from Mercado Santo Domingo. I enjoy looking at artisanal items and this store had many beautiful things, and all slightly different than the items I was seeing in the streets and in the markets. The items are not cheap but they are affordable. I live in Mexico and I see items similar to these often, but they way these were made were just beautiful and very high-quality. Shoes, boots, wool items, leather goods, men's and women's shirts, children's clothing, some jewelry... the store is a good size and it is a nice place to browse, to buy a gift or to buy something nice for yourself.
