Today we where supposed to do the trip, unfortunately nobody picked us up. Yesterday we booked the trip via TripAdvisor. Immediately after booking we received an email, with the confirmation and information where to meet for the pick up. We waited for an hour at the mentioned restaurant, but nobody picked us up. Luckily we had the opportunity to google the address of the company, we went there, the company was closed and not reachable by phone. Feels like a scam to us.

I did a day trip with Xaman and after seeing the review on tripadvisor I was very excited by the prospect of a day tour with them however I was left very disappointed. The tour I did was the 'kayak' day trip and I expected a trip with a day full of activities however what it consisted of was a small lagoon and some inflatable rings and kayak to paddle around for 6 hours!!! The prices for the tour was 1400 pesos and the price is similar to the cave experience and I therefore expected a lot more. For the same price, I have done a day trip to Palenque with a 5 hour drive each way and multiple stops as well as a day tour to Teotihuacan!! Both were immeasurably better. The organisation and professionalism was also a bit of a shambles. We were told lunch was included but it consisted of a handful of cheese cubes, some ham, and a bag of bread for 10 people - it felt that there was no effort made here at all!!! There was also a lack of general coordination and I felt as I was an addition to a school trip. The lagoon was beautiful and worth a stop if passing but not for a full day but overall a bad day out to forget.

We have done the 'kayak' expedition and were very surprised to arrive near a small water basin with only one kayak for 8 people. Beware that the aim is in fact to play around all afternoon by a small lagoon and not kayaking! The water was very clear and beautiful though. There was two activities: one was to jump in the lagoon off a cliff, the other one was to go down in the water with a rope attached to a tree. We paid 2,700 pesos for two, which is the highest rate we ever paid for a tour here in Mexico and it was not worth it at all. The staff were not helpful, they spent the day jumping from the cliff and taking pictures of themselves. The 'regional breakfast' consisted in a baguette cut in small pieces and a little box with small pieces of cheese and ham - thankfully the other members of the group did bring their own food so we were able to eat a little bit because their 'lunch' wasn't enough for 8 people. It looks like their other expeditions are really good and based on all their good reviews we chose them. I would have loved to write a good review but the only word to sump up this expedition is 'terrible'.

If you do not like darkness, climbing, getting muddy or being in a cave -> you'd better not take the canyoning experience in the Chorreadero. Xaman has other options :-) If what written above is what you are looking for - as it was the case for us - then go ahead and spend a day full of fun with the guys at Xaman! The tour was very well organized and the equipment was provided (apart from shoes). Edgar and Moi are excellent guides, they know the canyon very well and they made sure we had fun!

We took the zip line - a family of 6, including 2 ten years old girls. It was fantastic. The pickup was on time, and the guides were great. Very professional and nice. 20 minutes out of San Cristobal, and another 30 minutes walking up hill. 3 Fast zip lines were a lot of fun for all of us. We highly recommend it!
