A short visit, it really worth it. take your camera with you. What I loved the most was the letters from Frida to her doctor. So amazing to read the originals.

Museums tend to bore me -- and yes, I know, that flags me as an uncouth, uncultured American. But, really, the way most museums put everything up on a pedestal and don't allow you to touch ... it just seems so sterile. But not this museum! First, the architecture is beautiful. And the exhibits are great -- there is some... More

Never seen a stamp museum before and we were very surprised at the number and variety of stamps presented. Stop inside and pick up a magnifying glass so you can truly appreciate the stamps in each collection. Even one solely focused on frogs and toads! Beautiful space inside too - quite architectural!

The vault room features an incredible collection of stamps from around the world. It is well organized by theme- e.g. stamps re baseball, bridges from around the world, etc. Who knew that Angola featured stamps of Babe Ruth? The vault room also contains handwritten letters from Frida Kalho to a doctor friend of hers. Most interesting is her correspondence seeking... More

I've been meaning to visit this Museum of Philately -- FIMO -- for a while, and finally made it on a recent visit. It is another excellent present to Oaxaca from the Harp-Helu philanthropy. A lovely old colonial building has been converted, in its interiors, to this airy home of the art of making stamps. It is quite illuminating, especially... More

When I heard it was a stamp museum, I wasn't that interested. However, I'm so glad I decided to visit the museum which is as much about the building as it about its contents. The building is laid out around a patio and is very modern with wonderfully thought out details. There is a small outdoor café and a gift... More

We loved this museum. It is much bigger than you would expect from a stamp museum, but it has several exhibits and a huge archive with a ton of interesting stuff (letters from famous people like Frida Kahlo, a huge collection of baseball-themed stamps, music-themed stamps, nature-themed stamps, etc.). There is a big courtyard where you can sit and relax.... More

Even if you are not a stamp enthusiast, this museum is well worth a visit. Beautiful building, interesting gift shop where you can buy stamps and mail postcards. The exhibits are well thought out and displayed.
