I was suppose to go to Guatemala for study but because the visa issue I stayed in Mexico instead, so I didn't really plan the school before. But I was quite surprised by how lovely and trustful the school is. I took private class for seven weeks, before that I barely spoke nothing, but I can fluently express my feelings,... More

We went to this s hool after we had visited first and met Leanne the owner of the school. It us a great place to be small classes. Up to 4 persons in the class. We decided to stay for three weeks and do a home stay. To learn and live with a Mexican Family. Sharing all your experiences with... More

I really enjoyed my class here with Ileana and her teachers. Karen and Pearl were outstanding teachers and the class size was super small and accommodating to our needs. I learned A TON and was never once bored or looking at my watch!

This school fit my needs very well. It is located within the city center so easy to access. The owner, Ileana, was great about answering my many questions about the school before I decided. She arranged two different home stays for me and I couldn't have been happier at either one. A week of classes 4 hours per day and... More

I travelled to Oaxaca with a friend, to take part in 2 intensive weeks of Spanish study. I have never been exposed to Spanish before, and left feeling extremely confident in basic communication to help me with my travels into Central America. The environment is extremely personal, quaint and the ideal place to have a clear mind to learn the... More

All I can say is I had the the best time and would recommend this city, this school and homestay. Ileana runs a very enthusiastic school. The teachers were great and had a fun sense of humor. The excursions that the school arranged were not to be missed. The homestay family were warm and friendly and encouraged you to speak... More

We were only able to go to Oaxaca International for one week, and so we were looking for a language school which was flexible and somewhat casual. This school turned out to be the perfect choice---they accommodated us and we ended up doing 2 hours instruction and 2 hours of conversation. The instructors were good-humoured and so helpful. And the... More

Australian family: We spent a month at the school. Ileana made us feel very welcome. Incredibly flexible in accommodating Spanish lessons to meet our various levels, including classes for our two children ( 11 years and 14 years). We were amazed at the effort that Ileana and her staff put into creating excursions - fun and interesting for all of... More

I spent four weeks studying at Oaxaca International. The classes were a nice balance of grammar and conversation, and the teachers skilled at providing instruction in both. The space for classes is lovely (much of it outdoors) and the atmosphere warm and friendly. Ileana, the school's director, was both kind and responsive to student needs. She arranged a fabulous homestay... More

I have been to the Oaxaca International School two years in a row and I plan on going again next June. I did not know much about the school but I took a chance and it was beyond what I expected! At first, I was worried about going because I am older, traveling alone with very limited Spanish. I emailed... More
