Savor the Unique Tastes of Oaxaca! A Oaxaca Eats Food Tour will take you straight to the heart of Oaxacan cuisine in four hours of leisurely exploration. Stroll the streets of the historic Centro with our bilingual, locally-based guides, soaking up the color and learning about local food, history and traditions. You’ll visit 4 restaurants — some well known and others off-the-beaten-path — enjoying an array of up to 15 food and drink selections (including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages), along with generous servings of Oaxaca’s warm hospitality. Each ticket purchase supports responsible tourism with a 5% donation to two local non-profits - Esperanza Infantil and the Institute of Historic Organs in Oaxaca. Oaxaca Eats Food Tours is a local, woman-owned business committed to sustainable tourism.

Amazing tour! We loved our guide Rocio! She was extremely friendly and shared fun stories with us the entire time. We learned so much about Oaxacan food and culture from her.
We were both stuffed by the end of the tour. We've been on food tours before and have never been offered so many dishes to try! We tried dishes like memelas, tejate, and lots of mole. They also made sure we were well hydrated at each stop with delicious beverages and mezcal.
I was very full at stop 4 and didn't feel like I could finish an entire portion. They were super accommodating and packed it to go for me!

Wow Elizabeth! Thank you for the glowing and detailed review of Rocio and the tour. We are so glad that we were able to check all the boxes for you of what a first class food tour can offer. Rocio is a star among stars in our group of guides. She is so knowledgable about food, mezcal, plants and her culture and creates a great dynamic for our guests. Its like going out with a friend!! We are glad that you went home satisfied and well hydrated - especially with how unseasonably hot it's been this month. And, thanks for sharing your "to go" experience. My friend and I had the good luck to have Fernanda, an international chef, as our sunset tour guide, and especially to have her all to ourselves.. She is back in her beloved home town for a short time on break from her job working for the ambassador to Mexico in Saudi. Fernanda shared her extensive knowledge local foods along with her passion for the integrity local chefs in their mission to stay authentic. We visited four restaurants showcasing their skills for sometimes adding a creative twist to this authenticity. We had ample food to serve as dinner and plenty of different alcoholic, including mezcal straight and cocktails, as well as nonalcoholic beverages. We enjoyed two rooftop terraces, And saw a gorgeous sunset from one of them.
Fernanda was so lovely as well as so full of knowledge and we enjoyed our time with her tremendously. The value we received was great. Not only did we learn so much, but we explore new neighborhoods. She was also very helpful in making some restaurant reservations for us and sharing some recipe tips.
This is exactly the experience we were looking for. Thank you Oaxaca Eats and Fernanda! This is a must do for anyone who enjoys good authentic food.

Apologies Francine for our tardy response to this FANTASTIC review of Fernanda and the Sunset Cocktail Food Tour! Fernanda is a true gem and we welcome her back with open arms when she returns to Mexico from her job in Saudi. Her experience as a chef and Oaxaqueña is invaluable and adds so much to the tours. Plus, she is just so darned nice. How wonderful to have her all to yourselves. Cheers for booking the tour and especially for sharing your thoughts about Fernanda and your experience.

We actually did 2 tours since we had several sets of friends visit while we were in Oaxaca. We did the daytime and the sunset tour. We were lucky enough to have Itsel as our guide both times. She is so knowledgeable about the history of Oaxacan food and the importance it plays in the current culture. She was very familiar with each restaurant, their chefs, backgrounds, and their specialties. She was also great about asking us lots of questions about how we were experiencing the food and drinks. The food we tasted was excellent, and the overall experience is a must for visitors who want to learn more about Oaxaca.

Our guide, Marcos, was great! He is from Oaxaca and knowledgeable about the history, culture and all aspects of food! When they suggest come hungry they mean it! Every restaurant prepared several dishes created by the chef who brought their background to the beautifully presented dishes that they prepared for us. And you could feel their love in each dish. By the end of the tour we had a new appreciation for the depth and breadth involved in Oaxacan dishes. It's not just a chili pepper or a tortilla or Mezcal. Every region has their unique take on recipes. And what could be more enjoyable than time spent eating and drinking while learning so much about a different culture.

Rocio was an excellent guide. Each location she took us to served us a large sample of a
variety of Oaxacan specialties. Each dish was served with a delicious cocktail. Rocio was a knowledgeable and enjoyable guide and her English is excellent!

My mom and I loved our tour with Marcos. Not only was he deeply knowledgeable about the interesting, delicious and gourmet food we were eating, he was a delightful companion who was willing to share about his life. We also loved knowing that a local woman now owns and runs the business!

This tour was ABOVE and BEYOND what we were expecting to experience. Rocio was our guide and she was so passionate about sharing her people, her city, her country, her culture, and all of the wonderful food and restaurants in the tour with us. We scheduled this tour for the beginning of our trip and we're so happy we did because we then were able to return to some of the restaurants again (and again) throughout our visit. We highly recommend and this was, hands down one of our favorite things that we experienced while in Oaxaca City.

We visited four different restaurants in Oaxaca as part of a tapas tour. Our tour guide Rocio was a delight. Despite being new to this role (it was her sixth food tour with the company) she was knowledgeable and comfortable. It was fun meeting the others on the tour, who were from all over the US and Canada. The food and drink at each and every establishment was superb. Each restaurant offered something different, but all of it was handmade, original Oaxacan fare. More than one of the locations would never have made it onto our radar if we had not taken this tour. We highly recommend making this tour part of your Oaxacan visit.

We are very fortunate to have recently added Rocio to our stable of talented, knowledgable and caring guides. Personally I find my favorite part (which was a tough choice here) being about our very creative restaurant partners that cannot be overlooked when it comes to our success. They truly get what we are striving for and never fail to deliver. The X factor though is indeed the connection you make with your table mates. Glad that chemistry was present. Please return.

What an evening! We hopped from rooftop to rooftop: sampling delicious local delicacies and cocktails. Our group was comprised of interesting, adventurous people. Really such a treat. Christine, our guide, was greeted enthusiastically by each of the four restaurants that we visited which was insight into the authenticity of the tour. I've been on MANY food tours (5 countries, 9 states) and this one was different in a refreshing way . We had multiple tastings at each of the restaurants, didn't feel rushed. Really doesn't get better than this!

We spent a wonderful evening being guided by the knowledgeable and gracious Rocio who shared her tremendous passion for all things Oaxacan. We visited four different venues on the tour, each with their own special dishes and signature cocktails. It was a great way to try many different restaurants all in one evening. Everything was delicious! The groups are small (8 people) so there is plenty of opportunity for interaction with one another and the guide. We learned so much from Rocio, not just about the food we tried, but about traditions, history and daily life in Oaxaca. She is a very warm, welcoming and generous person. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would 100% recommend it.
