Excellent selection of souvenirs at a fraction of the cost as compared to the shops visited on your tour. Everything is here. This is very clean and the vendors are glad for your business.

This market has a bit of everything! If you want the Oaxacan experience, definitely check it out! It’s crowded but that just adds to the experience. Buy a beautiful hand woven bag, and fill it with gifts and memories!

Well laid out too. There are areas with all the meat vendors, others for vegetables, clothes, mezcal, etc. Been at least half a dozen times.

Even though this one still caters to tourist, its cheaper than many of the places you'll find around the Zocolo. Visiting a mercado like this is essential when you are in a place like Oaxaca.

One of the biggest states in Mexico, it's not easy to put all the culture in just one place, but this market does it. People from the coast, from the mountain, from the valley. All of them are here showing their culture and you can...More

When you first get to Oaxaca, this market is a good spot to get a feel for things. It's pretty big and has multiple entrances. There are different areas for food stalls, souvenirs, bulk foods, etc. We ended up buying like 3kg or so of...More

We really enjoyed this market. It had everything from food, to beautiful flowers, mezcal, textiles, blouses, spices, peppers, chapulines (grasshoppers), bread and more! We went there at least 4 or five times during the week we were there.

It's a huge food market. You can seat in many of the kitchens and order what they have, all kinds of food or go to the area where you buy your meat and vegetables and they will grill it for you. Even if you don"t...More

Hi Jonathan, I'm not sure why it's showing that way, the market is very close to the Zocalo in the center of town. Have fun!

I preferred the weekday so that it wasn't soooo congested, but that's just a personal preference.
