Amazing murals in the central library of the UNAM by the famous architect and muralist Juan O'Gorman.

Not very touristic friendly since it not really a tourist site, but simply a university, but worth stopping by to check out the enormous gorgeous murals and sculptures.

I didnt go inside but its definitely worth a drive by to see the way the tiles form the facade. The soccer stadium where the olympics were held many years ago is nearby as well, quite impressive.

On a sightseeing-tour – after a delightful sailing experience in the canals of the Xochimilcho Floating Gardens – the bus-tour-company had prepared a bullfight-experience for us tourists. However, my wife and I see the inevitable result of a bullfight as comparable to the inevitable Endlösung in Auschwitz. Luckily, 11 km south of Zona Rosa we passed the UNAM Library (vis-à-vis... It's a l-o-n-g subway ride from the center of the city to UNAM, but it's definitely worth the trip. The campus is beautiful and the library's exterior is just gorgeous - Mexican murals at their finest. The atmosphere on campus is charged and edgy - I'd imagine that's what US colleges were like in the 60s. Across the street is... More

The huge university campus is a bit out of the way from most tourist attractions. However the O'Gorman murals that are on all four sides of the exterior of the museum have become a symbol of this nation. There are other interesting murals which adorn nearby buildings. Across the busy street is the Olympic Stadium which features Diego rivera's last... More

The University is a bit of a schlepp to reach and huge once you get there. The scale of the campus buildings was to me overwhelming. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't.

One of the most iconic buildings in Mexico. The beautiful colors of the O´Gorman mural were constructed in the 50´s. Each side represents a different era of the Mexican history.

The UNAM CU's emblematic images are the Central Library Murals (this attraction) and the 1968 Olympic Stadium. This is just one small piece of a very nice campus ... highly recommended!!

This is the most imposing and well recognised university in Latin America. The campus is huge and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Mainly due to the artistically designed main building that is visible from miles away. The main mural on this building and others around the campus were painted by some of Mexico's best-known muralists of the 20th century... More
