A perfect museum for chocolate lovers, complete with a room covered in chocolate, yes you read that right.
Perfect for something to do in between activities or if you just want to explore off the beaten track the museum covers everything you need to know about chocolate in Mexico and how it became so popular, the chocolate shop on the way out was fantastic and the perfect way to end the visit.
The staff were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience all the more nicer

I love museums but this one really disappoints. All displays seem dated, the part about chocolate accesories is plain superficial (just a few jugs and cups) and most of the (scanty) descriptions are only in Spanish. Seems more like an add-on to the cafe which is downstairs. And all of that for the price of a decent art gallery ticket.

Went on a Saturday afternoon. Was quick to go through the museum. Friendly staff and nice building. The gift shop and café are the true highlights. Got some chocolate bars and bombóms and they were delish! Worth a trip if convenient, but wouldn't go out of way to visit.

This is a charming little museum full of fascinating history (and delicious chocolate!). The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Landy in particular went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. I would highly recommend this museum.

A good place to pop in if it’s raining to spend 45 minutes. The room covered in chocolate is pretty cool and smells delightful. There is a lot of information here about chocolate’s origins but it isn’t presented in a very interesting light. Also espanol is a must.

Now the cafe is awesome. Great chocolate and drinks. Get the cold chocolate mixed with horchata. Also the sugar skulls are to die for.

After ten days in CDMX, we tried this museum due to relatively good ratings. It's essentially five rooms packed with stuff around chocolate. Although moatly translated to English, I didn't undersgand what they want to say with the museum. No description of recipes, manufacturing or differences. It's really not worth the price. I read somewhere hat a youtube video would be more interesting, which is absolutely true.

We kind of stumbled on this little museum, and although it's very small, the building is really cool and our tour guide was so sweet and enthusiastic. It's interesting to learn about the history of chocolate, sample some cacao beans and then visit the shop and cafe at the end. It's not going to be like some of the larger museums, but a nice little stop if you're looking for something low-key.

An afternoon stroll to the chocolate museum with imagination running wild of all things chocolate. Unfortunately the museum did not live up to expectations. We were greeted by a young person who spoke very little English and could barely give us directions of which way to go. Very little of the information was dual language. It was mainly Spanish/ Mexican. The displays were very tired and dated and the whole experience was over in about an hour. And we took our time ! Overall it was overpriced and not a good experience. We could learn very little from this apart from we need to learn Spanish.

Visited with a group of friends in October.
Was expecting the museum to be more interactive. Was rather boring and not really what I think a Chocolate museum should be.
Tried a chocolate Tamale and hot Chocolate on milk. Was Nice.

A selection of handmade chocolates for sale.

A somewhat overpriced museum dedicated to the history of chocolate. It’s small but well put together, very modern. I was waling through solo and didn't see any tours.
The museum outlines the rich history of chocolate in mexico, how chocolate was prized by the Spanish as well as the global trade.

There are excerpts from botanical books, stamps celebrating chocolate, historical artwork and photographs all about chocolate. There are a selection of fossils associated with the chocolate trade. The museum even has vintage chocolate posters, chocolate moulds and hot chocolate pots.

The museum hosts chocolate sculptures and artwork. The evolution of technology is well represented as well as the science around flavouring.

But probably the best part, besides the smell of chocolate everywhere, is the gift shop. Salted chocolate and chilli chocolate! You don’t need to go through the museum to visit the store.

Overall i was disappointed with the size. I may have spent an hour maximum here, and while the collection is interesting, it's not particularly large. It pales in comparison to the Anthropology Museum or Templo Mayor. The chocolate is delicious.
