Casa Lamm is simply stunning, and the restaurant 99 is a feast for the eyes. From a huge cedar tree bar to the black and white tile floors, to the secret and classy smoking lounge, this place is gorgeous. The wine was delicious, my first course of fried Camembert cheese in berry sauce was delicious, but the main course was not so interesting. My dining companion said the same; her main course was nothing memorable. Dessert ( tiramisu) was outstanding as was the service. If I go again I will order a couple of appetizers and skip the main course, and then have dessert.

The place was packed and we didn't have a rez. They treated us great! Told us we could wait in the plush upstairs bar until a table became available. We had cocktails and were seated in about 30-minutes.

The service was exceptional! The food was outstanding! And the atmosphere was enchanting! I had the scallops special tossed in garlic and olive oil. They were absolutely delish. My dining partners had the Salmon, the Filet and the Medallions of Beef. They all raved about their food.

For desert I had the Pan de Elote with Salsa de Cajeta - fabulous.

Washed it all down with a great bottle of wine. We'll be back. Dinner for 4 with cocktails, a good bottle of wine and tip was $180.00-usd

This is one of the places that you can go again and again, the service, the place, the food is always consistent - whatever you order will always be at its point!
The place is very cozy, the music, the view, the staff, the gardens - worth to go and more than anything in any special occasion when you look for everything to be perfect, either at day or at night. Do not forget to order some churros - delicious literally!

I went on a Saturday. The website said they open at 9, but when I got there at 9:30, the guard said they open at around 11, maybe 12. Writing to warn others - I wasn't able to see it so cannot truly give it a star rating, but that and the field below are a required fields....

This used to be one of the best restaurants in Mexico City. The house is superb and a historic site. The last couple of visits have been rather disappointing: expensive, unattenrive service and low quality dishes for the price. The place is still worth a visit just to enjoy the premises, but the management should pay more attention to the quality of food and service.

Centro de Cultura Casa Lamm is (up until this moment at least) an acclaimed institute of higher learning in the arts and humanities, offering bachelor and master of arts degrees, as well as doctorates in several disciplines. It features a rigorous academic program, and is accredited by the Secretary of Education. I did my doctorate in art history there. The classrooms and administrative offices are housed within historically significant and beautiful buildings, which also host several galleries. The compound boasts a luxurious garden with several important sculptures by artist Jorge Marín and others (and once featured Leonora Carrington). This space is coveted for private functions such as receptions and launches (which is one way to pay for an institute for the humanities). There is also a restaurant called Nueve Nueve (99) that does not have much in the way of vegan options, but is a lovely spot from which to enjoy the tranquility of the space, with a glass of something nice. Centro de Cultura Casa Lamm, the institute, is a holdout from a time in which art, thought, creativity, and intellectual daring (the humanities, in essence), mattered. It is NOT the restaurant.

Casa Lamm is an interesting multi-faceted venue. The library offers titles on art and literature. Check out a book and read it in the garden or cafe.

The cafe on-site is tranquil and inviting.

Also offers various educational courses. Overall has a bohemian, relaxed vibe.

We attempted to book a dinner reservation on Saturday night, in person, and were told they were booked solid. I started to leave and the hosts said wait. They found a booking for 8pm. We arrived at 6:30 to see the gallery which was closed so my wife said see if they can change our reservation. The were many available tables and and they seated us immediately on the porch at our request. The restaurant never filled while we were there. Odd. Our dinners were excellent. My wife had salmon which she said was the best she has ever had. I had a veggie dish which was also very good. It is a pricey restaurant by local standards but the exchange rate for the US$ makes it a bargain. Very attractive restaurant.

A former Porfiriato-era mansion, the Casa Lamm now serves as an education center and art space. The lovely garden makes for a welcome retreat from the bustle of Avenida Alvaro Obregon, Colonia Roma's always bustling main drag. It's a tranquil place just to sit and relax or take in an exhibit of progressive art by talented local painters and sculptors. There's also a restaurant, Nueve Nueve (named for the street address), that boasts a considerable reputation.
