About
Our guided Mexican food tours and Mexican cooking lessons are seriously fun. In our Mexican food tours you'll visit some off the beaten path locations in Mexico City, a paradise for foodies. You'll taste food from a variety of one-of-a-kind Mexican eateries while receiving the locals' view into the culture and architecture. Enjoy new culinary perspectives, new flavors, bright smiles, and the opportunity to understand better where and how the locals eat & live. Our goal is that you eat like the locals and get a clear idea of the authentic Mexican Cuisine. Between tastings, you'll experience the life of Mexico City's residents, the so-called "Chilangos", as you enjoy walking around fascinating neighborhoods like Polanco or lovely and authentic markets such as Mercado de San Juan located in Centro Histórico. In our Mexican cooking lessons, you'll cook some delicious Mexican dishes with and expert Mexican chef, an unforgettable experience. We run tours all year round. All food tastings and drinks are included in the ticket price. **Our Polanco food tour ends close to the Anthropology Museum (walking distance), so you might consider spending the rest of your day in the most important museum of our country.

My wife and I took a virtual cooking class with Chef Edu in early April. Due to the coronavirus, we were stuck indoors in California and Chef was at home in Mexico. Through the beauty of Google Hangouts, Chef walked my wife and I through a vegetarian ceviche that was outstanding. This was our second cooking class with Chef after meeting him in person in Mexico City last year to take the in-home cooking class. He teaches amazing recipes and is a funny, patient teacher!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our food tour hosted by Viry. We highly recommend doing this tour as one of your first activities arriving in Mexico as we feel so much more confident in ordering food and looking for the best spots to eat after this tour. Viry was so friendly and easy to talk to. She is a qualified Chef and is so happy to share her extensive foodie knowledge. All of the places visited were so accomodating and you can sense the tour company has a great relationship with them all. Viry is also fantastic with kids and this is definitely a family friendly option. Thank you!!!

My first time is in Mexico City, and this evening food tour in Polanco was just the right start to my vacation. I met Bidi, our tour guide, and the rest of the other eager mouths at a welcoming local Mexican restaurant. Formalities done with, Bidi was full of energy and excitement about the delicious food we were expected for the evening . Each of the first ~5 places she took us, we had a generously portion of a sample entree. I think most of us were nearly stuffed by the 3rd place but Bidi kept us entertained with her wealth of knowledge about the foods and localities that we just treaded on! It was all walking in between restaurants which helps with trying to walk off whatever calories. The second and last places we were treated to desert and drinks. All in all, a pleasant experience. By the way, it rained the whole night but that didn’t stop us!

Although we have been to Mexico nearly twenty times we enjoyed some new foods, but more importantly learned more about the regional roots and preparation of the foods we ate. This was a diverse experience led by an engaging guide (Luis) that I would recommend. Worth it.

If you are a business traveler like me in Mexico City, do not want to eat alone at night, and don't venture out to do a gastronomic tour by yourself this tour is for you. Marcela is guide with a culinary degree. The tour is an upscale neighborhood, Polanco. My only comment is that the variety may be improved as most dishes we tasted were taco variations.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Your feedback on the variety of dishes is valuable, and we'll certainly take that into consideration for future tours. We appreciate your input and hope to welcome you back for an even more diverse culinary experience next time!

We joined the Centro Historico walking tour. The guide was so full of historical knowledge it was amazing. We enjoyed touring a cathedral, a museum, a library, a post office, and several other places with amazing architecture and stories behind them. We even did a bit of shopping. There were also two additional tour guides (one was the owner of Mexico Food Tours) who stayed at the back of our group to answer questions and assist with various needs of the group. They were so patient and kind, never making us feel rushed!

This was one of the best experiences on our first visit to Mexico City and our gateway to exploring the Roma neighborhood. Our guide, Mira, was knowledgeable, informative, and inclusive. She gave us insight to Roma, it’s food and restaurants. I highly recommend this experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour in the Centro Historico. Eduardo was a fun, considerate, and knowledgeable guide—it was clear he knows quite a lot about Mexican history and food, and we learned a lot from him. He made sure our preteen son had nonalcoholic drinks and even took the time to teach him about seafood at the market. We especially loved exploring the San Juan food market, learning about mezcal, grasshoppers, and pre-colonial foods, and eating the best ceviche and tacos al pastor ever. Definitely a highlight of our trip! Thanks again, Eduardo!

Our chef Eren was the best part. She was perfect for our group making us all feel at home in the space, a beautiful historic building. We all prepared a wonderful authentic meal with fresh ingredients
that we purchased at the neighborhood mercado down the street. A great experience from beginning to end. Bravo Eren!

The experience was absolutely amazing. I can't begin to speak highly enough about Eren. She was kind, funny, informative and oh my god the food!!! And her drink menu was next level. My friends and I all agree and will definitely be taking whatever class Eren teaches in the future when we go back.
