Mexico City is full of astounding architecture and superlatives are deserved by this modernist gem. It houses of course books and also permanent and rotating art, and it is the building itself that is the greatest attraction. If you're not an architect or engineer type,...More

Easy to walk in and out of and walk around inside to take photos and see the great design. If you are in the area and have 30 min to 1 hour to spare would recommend to go and check out.

I spent a month in Mexico City, writing and sightseeing, and la Biblioteca Vasconcelos was by far my favourite place to write. The library is visually stunning, with the stacks "floating" on translucent floors above and around a massive atrium featuring a sculpture of a...More

What a piece of architecture. It feels like a bunch of floating books— we just strolled through and snapped a few pics, but you could stay and read.

I walked to Biblioteca Vasconcelos from the Historic Downtown center. Once I arrived, I was free to walk around and browse the stories upon stories of books. I am an English speaker and the majority of the books are in Spanish. This is not a...More

Depending on traffic, 10 to 30 min, it is relatively close by. You can take an Uber or a taxi, and don't forget to walk by the murals in the avenue right next to the Biblioteca.

Not really. There is a metro and metrobus stop right outside. Other options are the ubiqitous, dirt-cheap Mexico City taxis or just grab a Uber. It is not super close to Condesa but should not take too long.
