This is one of the first churches in Mexico and the continent. It was built by the Franciscans and the gardens were huge, the Alameda park was part of the monastery. The facade is beautiful and the altars are also amazing. The altarpiece is covered...More

Templo de San Francisco is a Franciscan monastery that has an impressive doorway but otherwise an underwhelming interior other than the murals in the main chapel. It is on Madero Street, making it a convenient stop if walking along.

This church site was once huge. This is all that remains of it and the main facade is walled in. Remnants of chapels can be seen in surrounding streets and much was pulled down in the anticlerical period. We were unable to visit the old...More

Beautiful 800 year old churc of baroque architecture. Set back from main pedestrian walk to zocalo. Very nice art perhaps from Spanish masters.

This church is amazing and right in the middle of everything going on near Centro Historico. If you're visiting Palacio de Bellas Artes, Torre Latino, or any of the nearby attractions, then you must stop by and visit this church!

Along Francisco I Madero Rd is a majestic, aged church whose interior beauty is hidden from the public. Would strongly suggest a brief visit to see the interior and observe the devout patrons inside.

First thing I noticed when I saw Iglesia de San Francisco was that it was slanted. Traveling around Europe this is pretty typical for older buildings. You can find interesting historical facts on this church online. Apparently there have been a few other churches built...More

These church was very beautiful outside and inside specially because it has a lot of images that are Jesus Christ images, we spend about 20 minutes here because they didn’t have a mass but we took good pictures and it was really quiet and enjoyable.
