This zoo is a joke. It is dirty, the animals have rashes on them and don’t seem well taken care of.
To top it off the “Paqueteria” advertises $12 pesos to hold your bag but on weekdays - supposedly- they charge $20 pesos. I asked the lady where its written thats the charge and she said she “indicates” us that. What a flipping laughable rip off.

We visited in the week after going to the castle nearby and were surprised that we didn’t need to pay any admission and entrance appears to be free
Whilst there you can pay extra for things like pictures with animals or special areas/experiences like the snakes I think - but there was enough to see just walking around what is a large, well kept site. Toilets are 6 pesos if you need to use them and there is a food court which has a range of food which is convenient and average priced for onsite facilities.
There are sections like safari, aviary, jungle with deliverer types on animals - we particularly liked the hippos and giraffes
The zoo does get really busy after the morning - we did go at a weekend though and went earlier leaving when it got busier as it’s then harder to see the animals and wasn’t as pleasant. So go earlier if able.

This zoo is very interesting and attractive, it has many animals and its facilities are very beautiful
It is too accessible a place since the cost per ticket is very cheap, so the whole family can go to have fun.
The animals found in the habitats with glass, is a very important safety measure because the glass is too thick and allows visitors not to put themselves at risk.
It is a very extensive and interesting zoo for all the species of animals it has, is an amazing place not to be missed , it is an amazing place that you can not miss..

Maybe I've just had the luck of going to some amazing zoos, but I truly found Parque Zoologico to be a letdown. I was surprised given so many people said they spend hours here. I walked around for about an 45 minutes, and I saw a grand total of one exhibit with animals. All the rest of the habitats were empty. Their signage was also extremely poor, just one large map you take a picture of, but otherwise not much throughout the rest of the zoo to indicate where you are as it relates to the larger map.
The Chapultepec park itself is amazing, and I highly recommend checking out the castle on the East end, but I'd pass on the zoo unless you're desperate for something to do.

We arrived early and had the park to ourselves, but empty of people and animals. Very sad concrete enclosures with dirty glass and filthy water pools. I did see a panda asleep and I thought even that area, famous at the zoo was poor, dated and not what people want to see in 2020. Animals deserve far better than offered in Chapultapec Zoo.

I normally would not have visited the zoo (in favor of more interesting places to visit as a tourist), but we were with our granddaughters and wanted them to enjoy the park and zoo. Surprisingly, the whole family had a great time seeing the Panda, panthers and playful lemurs. No entry fee which was quite nice, too! It's a great spot to spend an hour or two...afterwards, the granddaughters rode the paddleboats on the nearby lake.
Notes: Backpacks need to be checked (don't forget yours, as my husband did LOL). You also need 5-peso coins for the washrooms (to operate the entry door).

Not often you will find a zoo for free, and never one with such an attraction as a giant panda. Unless you are in CDMX. It is worth it for the panda alone, but the entire zoo is really nice and free (except if you want to see the butterflies). Great location too, in Chapultepec Park.

The zoo is lovely and the park around is worth exploring - there are vendors, a carousel and a castle. The zoo is laid out in such a way that it is easy to navigate. It is important to note that while the zoo was free on a Sunday one must pay for the butterfly and reptile houses, both worth visiting!

I personally had never been to a zoo before so when I entered this one I expected an unforgettable experience and it was.
The zoo has many animals, they are all in places similar to their natural habitat, I loved seeing the tigers and lions, the food is accessible and the games are fun. The zoo also had a gift shop with lots of stuffed animals, some cuter than others, I've never had so much fun! It was interesting to learn interesting facts about the animals and feel close to them.
There were several beautiful birds and a huge field where you could spend time playing or relaxing. Some things were expensive and some were cheap but it doesn't matter if you know how to have fun.

This was a great zoo especially considering the entry was completely free other than to some of the smaller areas such as the reptile house.
There was a wide range of species including giant pandas, lions and Siberian tigers. The animals compounds were all very large and the animals appeared to be very well cared for.
The design and layout of the zoo was good and modern.
Perfect way to speaks a few hours in CDMX particularly if in the local area already (Polanco, La Condesa, etc)
