From the moment we walked in the hotel our experience was phenomenal! We were greeted so kindly and the ladies in the counter received us with great professionalism. I do what to give a special thanks to Jose Luis he treated us fantastic and every time we approached him with a question he had a solution right away. The gentlemen... More

We were visiting the Zocolo in Mexico City and dropped in to the Gran Hotel for a beverage in the informal restaurant. The service was excellent in the restaurant, and when we left, the personnel in the hotel made a call to obtain transport for us back to our hotel some distance away. This service also was excellent in spite... More

Known for its Art Noveau style architecture, Gran Hotel is always an interesting landmark to see if you find yourself in Centro Historico. Don't miss visiting their restaurant in the 4th. (or 5th. story)! good food (with strange, for US usage, schedules! Full menu from early in the morning until 6PM. From then on, mainly grill!) Magnificent view of the Zocalo. Incredible ceiling and view of ballroom? downstairs.

The lobby is fun to see if you saw the movie. Make sure to go earlier in the day because they now have a guard to turn people away after "visiting hours" have ended. It is unclear what time that is. You can still get in if you say you want to eat at the terrace. However, at the terrace... More

This hotel sits just off the south west corner of the main square or zocalo. It is a classic example of the style that was in vogue during the "Porfiriato" (period when Porfirio Diaz was president in the turn of the XIX-XX century. During this period, the latest trends was the French Art Deco style and this hotel is a... More
