This place was included in our tour, We loved the place because you can take some good pictures and the place tells you about the history it was a convent but it’s not functioning anymore, after that you can go to the lake and enjoy the rain in the boats.

Overlooked by many visitors to Xochimilco who head straight to the embarcaderos (or who are directed there by the touts), the parish church of St. Bernardino is well worth the visit. Apparently built in the late XVIth century it is a monumental but still relatively simple parish church. What makes it stand out are the altar and side chapels which have been added over the centuries. Unlike many side-chapels, however, these are in niches and not concealed behind iron grates as they are in, for example, the Metropolitan Cathedral. The main altar is quite spectacular and, recently restored, the paintings, some which are attributed to Baltasar de Echave Orio (many of whose works are in the National Art Gallery).
