This is by far the best place to visit in the city. The artifacts are amazing and the layout is well designed. One of the best museums I've ever visited. We loo at everything and only did the downstairs and we spent 5 hours. The upstairs is more modern and can be done quickly.

They house the largest and most complete collection of Mesoamerican artifacts in the world. Give yourself 2-3 hours to really see it all. You won't be disappointed!

The museum is in a beautiful building, the exhibits are really informative about the breadth of pre Spanish Mexican and middle American culture and bring it all to live
Try the virtual reality headsets for a view of the current archaeological dig at teotihuacan
Sadly the Aztec room was closed for repair when we were there.

The museum was good back in the '70s when I first visited but appears to have changed little since then. Shame since this is one of the reasons many tourist come to Mexico

Well preserved, this site makes good use of artifacts displayed to easily see the intracacies and the expertise of ancient peoples. Take a guide for an English interpreter.
