By far one of the most charming, hip, cosmopolitan colonias in CDMX. So much like Europe, but better! The street life of Condesa is incomparable, especially in a city not known for being pedestrian-friendly. WARNING: You may fall in love with this part of the city.

Such an amazing neighborhood. We are finishing a monthlong trip and of our multiple visits to Mexico City, this is definitely the most pleasant neighborhood. Very Greenwich village feel to it, with small shops, restaurants and a few coffee shops and bars scattered throughout. Avenida Amsterdam as well as both Parque España and Parque México are beautiful. Suffered some earthquake damage in 2017 but new modern buildings are popping up. Cannot wait to come back!

I go to Mexico city for business on a regular bases. I have stopped staying in hotel but rent a apartment in La Condesa area. It is a safe and green area with lots of cosy nice restaurants and cafe for breakfast, lunch, coffee or dinner. Highly recommend to stay in this area.

If you are looking for a hip area full of bars and restaurants and cafes La Condesa is the place to go.
We were pleasantly surprised what it had to offer. It has a Paris feel to it. We found a gret cafe for coffe and a scone to start the morning.

ok so we stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights to get a feel for the street scenes and eateries/parks. At first the overgrown mature tree lined streets seemed maze like...and that's the thing here...unless you really study the maps and go up high to get a birds eye perspective...you will definitely be overwhelmed at first... Having said that though....once you get familiar with the traffic flows..one way street traffic and oft times treacherous uneven footpaths...a few hours of concentric circles later and voila...you begin to discover the wonderful eclectic shops....excellent cafes and resturants and of course the two seriously gorgeous and spacious city Parks..The thing is these are colonial styled neighborhoods...within each few blocks you can find...a dry cleaner, market, dentist, mechanic, cafes, resturants, bookstore, 7/eleven or Oxxo. Taxis are stationed every few blocks, there's easy access to the metro and of course there's always the dog walkers to follow coz they all eventually head toward or end up at One of the huge public Parks....oh and the thing we discovered most useful in Condessa was the public wifi (for all of Mexico City DF). Hard to get lost with a map ap handy.

I live here and I always want to come back home in La Condesa. Some people say it is an artificial place filled with foreigners, gays and greenies, and yes, it is true and it shows the relaxed character of the place. It is also true that things are here more expensive than in our neighboring Roma but there's a reason for that: it is nicer here. La Condesa is greener in many ways: more trees, more bikes, more organic stores, more people that cares about our environment. There is a lot of dogs here but it is not easy to find dog's poop on the street. If you see a dog doings its business on the street there is normally somebody taking out a bag to pick it and people with strollers are grateful for that! It is also true that La Condesa is not a representative neighborhood of Mexico City, ok, I you want to see something more real then go somewhere else but if you want to eat nicely without walking too much and having a relaxed feeling then come and visit us in La Condesa!

Mexico City, while beautiful and very historical, is not a place of whimsy and irony. It takes itself very seriously - traditional Mexican or fine European cuisine, culture on display, rigid class division of shopping areas, etc. La Condessa however is an oasis to a North Eastern gal like myself who likes messy, blended, tongue-in-cheek internationalism. Fusion cuisine is everywhere. Strange little funky boutiques too. This area felt like a Mexican-twist to my Montreal home. A bit art-deco to boot. If I had to move to Mexico City, this might be my first choice now.

My guide book had a Roma and Condesa walk in it. What a delight! It started at Obregon, took in Roma Norte and wound up in Condesa. There was a real mix of stunning architecture, particularly around the beautiful Parque Mexico. A real pleasure.

How you'd find Condesa is I guess based on what you come there for. Travel magazines and sites tout La Condesa as one which is abuzz with activity, hip shops where local/budding artists are starting off and a very active night life.

Quite honestly, we were very disappointed. It is just a quiet pleasant neighborhood with a bunch of trendy eating joints. That's about it.

This area is full of little stores, artistic shops, parks, and amazing little cafes and restaurants. This is the area where artist and bohemiand people hang around, so it has a lot of personality. Just love it!!!
