It's a must if you're in mexico city. We started our Mexico trip here and that helped alot to understand the pre-Columbian history when we visited all the famous archeological sites later.

Great museum. Modern, well laid out, informative, easy to follow. Highly recommend visiting BEFORE going out to the temples.

Not a mind-blowing museum! You can find a complete introduction to mexican cultures and civilizations, but it is a bit hectic and it can get boring and too much.

From the architecture of the museum to the design and content of the exhibits, this is a world class experience. One of the design aspects that we particularly enjoyed was the many exhibits that are both indoors and outdoors. It made for... More

The museum itself is a work of art, and the treasures and knowledge it contains is beyond my ability to express in words. Make this the first place you go when you come to Mexico City

Very large museum with a variety of displays - some original and some replicas. Visited with a guide as part of a group, would recommend this approach to get the most of it. Allow plenty of time. Shop and cafe on site.
