This raucous and sometimes crazy plaza is filled with mariachi bands and other musicians.

This plaza was a "must see" in most sources we consulted prior to our (me, my wife, son, his wife and 3year old son) trip to Mexico City. We all deemed it "overrated". Roving and aggressively bothersome bands of performers pounced on us throughout out...More

This Plaza has going down, it is NOT what it USED to be. I went on a Sunday night and it was not pleasant, many rest. were closed. I went to one Rest. and the food and the service was terrible. I was told the...More

About a mile walk from Palacio de Bella's Artes and Alameda Central. We took Uber from our apartment across the Alameda and it took about 5 minutes or so. It was a Friday evening, plaza was not busy at all, few mariachis playing and restaurants/bars...More

Was really disappointed when I came to Plaza Garibaldi. After reading so much about it was very disappointed. Felt like it was a big tourist trap. Lots of very pushy touts trying to get you to their bars/ cantinas. Can see Mariachis else where

Came here with my family and Saturday night around 12am. We parked underground and it was a big mistake they overcharge for parking just for a couple of hours. Don't park underground! There is plenty of police around Garibaldi. We ate at the first restaurant...More

Seedy, dangerous, druggy, smelly. And to think this place had a facelift! Save your time and find mariachi elsewhere. It's a real cesspit. Even when artists are playing they are overlapping each other's music so you can't enjoy their music. So many homeless people on...More

The real Garibaldi starts whe it gets dark although during tue days there are some bands ready to play for you. My visit was at night time. There are many eateries sorrounding the plaza, try the ones on the mercado, no mariachis there but reasonable...More
