We booked the online cooking class as part of our company conference, and was not disappointed. The engagement, rapport, fun and energy was infectious, plus we discovered new ways of cooking and new recipes. The food was delicious and we'll definitely be booking this again. With thanks from all of us at Laurence Simons Search.

We did the Mexican Fiesta Class with Chef Lorena. It was our 4th or 5th class with her and it was as fun, educational and delicious as the others. My husband and I live in Alaska, My Daughter and DIL live in MA, Sister and nieces in N.C. and sister and partner in the UK. We have been doing these classes since February to get some time together during the pandemic and learn more about this cuisine that we love so much.
We made Margaritas, Guacamole and Quesadillas! Lorena is an excellent teacher and a warm and loving person. Her individual attention, remembering us from all the times before, on top of her warmth and charm, made each experience really special.
I could not recommend these classes and Lorena enough. We plan to do this together, with her, as long as there are classes to take.
As a result, we are talking about planning a trip to Mexico City to cook with her in person.
Do this, you will be glad you did.

Four of us (husband, son, friend and I) took the salsa making class and market tour. It was a fantastic experience. First we had a review of Mexican cooking, then a very thorough market tour complete with sampling everything from fresh made corn and flour tortilla’s to crunchy grass hoppers, taco’s, ice cream, and cacao. We then returned to Graciela’s lovely kitchen to make 10 salsa’s from mild to very 🌶! The lunch consisted of pork, cochinita pibil, eggs, artesanal beer, mescal and more! Don’t eat much before this class as the market food samples and lunch are delicious and filling! Highly recommend this cooking school as it was the highlight of our trip.

My husband and I did this along with our 2 kids ages 3 & 5. It was an amazing experience. I cannot recommend enough. They were so kind and patient with our kids & really allowed them to help. They were engaged the entire time. We learned so much & I left feeling like I would be able to replicate the dishes at home. They had no problem accommodating our vegetarian diet & shortening the class a bit due to the kids attention spans. The whole set up was beautiful & felt very intimate & is located in an easy to get to area in Roma Norte. They took photos for us as well - I will always treasure them! Thank you so much!

Wonderful and fun experience in Mexico City! Kristel was fantastic and her class is very informative. We went to the Mercado Medellín, tasted delicious street food, and then prepared our lunch. Highly recommend! One of the best memories of our trip to Mexico.

A magical afternoon with Chef Graciela. Planned this cooking class as part of a graduation trip for my son and did it through an agent (journey mexico), not knowing what to expect. My husband and my son were as thrilled as I was. Graciela taught us all about Mexican food culture and history and explained the soil, crops and chilis that make the rich food tradition. We entered her kitchen which is part of an incredible home full of art and pottery. It is warm, inviting and full of color. So is Graciela. Her story is amazing. She got to know us and we learned to make delicious mole and other dishes. We also had a mezcal tasting. The experience was topped off by her recognizing my son’s graduation with a hat and sweet treats. If you are visiting or local I cannot recommend this enough. Hoping to come back for a girls weekend.

My group of five had a wonderful time with a class at Aura! Our instructor, Pame, was super friendly and comfortable working with a group of varied ages and engaged all of us. The market tour and snacks along the way were very informative as well as fun and the food we made was delicious! Pame even took great photos throughout and shared them with us at the end. Definitely a highlight of our trip, don’t hesitate to book with Aura!

We had a fantastic salsa making class with Chef Lorena. I love to take cooking classes when we visit other countries and this was one of the best! We had a market visit and then prepared 10 different salsas. We then had a delicious lunch and were so full afterwards. Highly recommend.

Pame was warm and friendly . You can tell she enjoys teaching people how to cook authentic Mexican food. The food we prepared was delicious. We tried different foods I’ve never tried before such as Huitlacoche a corn fungus that tastes like mushrooms . It was incorporated into a quesadilla with homemade blue corn tortillas. We sampled various dried bugs. I liked it not than I thought I would. Pame showed us how to remove the skin , veins and seeds off the pepper so we wouldn’t transfer the oil to our hands, eyes and private parts. She said if we thought we had it on our hands to put oil and salt on her hands to neutralize the pepper oil. We prepared homemade tortillas , white mole, salsas and mextlapiques( an Ancient Aztec word which refers to wrapping a food). We used a corn husk to cook on a grill we made one with vegetables and beans. For dessert we prepared a sweet corn bread . It was delicious . One of my favorite parts of the class was going to a tortillería and the Mercado . I highly recommend the Aura cooking classes.
