We loved this secret historic place in the middle of the woods of one of Mexico’s lungs, the National Park of Desierto de los Leones. The convent in general is good but I wish they would have more information about the place, perhaps a trifold. We truly loved the tour of the basement with a candle. It was spooky!

This is a monastery in the mountains above Mexico City in the southern part of town. It's not far, but it's a one lane road through a rural/residential area so it takes awhile. The monastery itself is beautiful and interesting. Be sure to find the passageway under the building to see how the humidity is kept out of the monastery. The grounds are lovely and there are great photo ops. The restaurants nearby are good, clean and cheap. There is plenty of parking.

The earthquake of September 2017 meant that some areas were not open to view during our visit, however, my favorite place was the "chapel of secrets" where the acoustics are so good, you can sit in opposite corners and have a whispered conversation with another person. I'm not sure if there is an English speaking guide service, however our Spanish guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The site is lovely; well maintained and peaceful.

It is a beautifully peaceful place, surrounded by a large redwood forest.
Luxury restaurant inside the convent. Additionally, you pay $21 to enter even the restaurant. Not worth it. It is also private or concession. Nothing to see.
Dozens and dozens of better places outside to walk, eat and have meetings of any size.
Parking on the left side of the convent is a tip, so about $40 is recommended for an older adult who is on crutches organizing access and a very active little child.
The arrival to the place is slow due to the cyclists, many reckless who occupy the entire lane even if there are two of them. You have to overtake with great caution.
The convent restaurant is as expensive as the most luxurious restaurant in CDMX. Some chilaquiles with flank steak in moderate portions $280. Better to go to the local restaurants and eat from the ejidatarios, everything is delicious and even cheap. The same chilaquiles are at $80. Lots of hygiene!

They wanted to charge me $600 to take personal photos, it was robbed, it bothered me a lot, the entrance says it's $22 to enter, but charging almost even to breathe inside, it's very annoying

Hello, I’ve seen a couple of people get married at this location. I was wondering if this location still allows weddings here/ cost for 50 people.
Thank you!

i would ask a taxi what it would cost, or hire an Uber driver. It's in the mountains in the southern part, past San Angel. The road there is narrow and traverses small communities with vendors practically on the street. There's no way I'd drive there myself. If you hire a taxi, have them wait for you, or offer the Uber driver a price to take you for the day. There are places to eat there that are delicious and clean. And take a camera!
