I am usually hesitant to take the free walking tours because of the 3 million people that are following the umbrellas around the city. However, this walking tour was fairly small (maybe 10 people) in our group, which was perfect. They offered Spanish or English speaking tours on the day we went. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was such an excellent way to get acquainted with the Centro Historico. I highly recommend booking this free tour. The quality was fantastic.

On our first day in Mexico City, we took the free walking tour of the “heart of Mexico City” with Monica. We couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the city, presented in such an engaging and informative way. We saw the Templo Mayor/Tenochtitlán, the Palacio of Bellas Artes, the incredibly ornate post office, and the Cathedral. Monica put everything in context, pointed out details that we would never have gleaned on our own (including how to tell a good taqueria!), and gave us recommendations for other sights to visit. Very grateful!

We were coming to Mexico City, so we arranged for two days of personally guided tours. Both were exceptional. The first was south to see the art at Museo Dolores Olmedo followed by tours of the homes of Freida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Wow! It was all amazing! Monica even managed to fit in a lunch at the wonderful open market. The second tour was a private walking tour of downtown and Guadalupe. It was so wonderful and moving. Ana was flexible to our wants and so very knowledgeable. I cannot recommend both of them and the company more highly.
Thank you so much!!

I took this tour on my first morning in Mexico City and it was a perfect way to start my week-long visit. We covered several highlights of the central historical area and I discovered some places I’d not heard of before. Our guide, Brenda, was friendly and informative, and gave me some good ideas about places to return to later and visit for a longer time, as well as a few restaurant recommendations in the area. A great overview of a fantastic city.

Mexico a Pie offers a truly fantastic, friendly and helpful service. They were essentially responsible for a terrific trip to Mexico City having organized three fantastic tours (tortilla and mescal tasting, historic downtown walking tour and Teotihuacan experience) for me. It’s really great that they are still able to operate during these difficult times and hopefully more tourists will return soon to avail of their services!

The Lucha libre and mezcal tasting tour was excellent start to finish. Arturo was prompt and friendly and made sure we were safe and happy the whole time. He had tons of interesting facts about Lucha Libre, and really made it fun for adults and kids (my 9 year old had the best time ever). There was a bit of walking, nothing too strenuous, between a couple different stops. The mezcal tasting was inside a cute and interesting food/shop hall, and included 5 different mezcals, guacamole, and even fried crickets (kids got a fruit flavored slush). Although I’m sure we could have gotten tickets on our own to the Lucha Libre match, it was so much more enjoyable to go with Arturo. He even got a few wrestlers to stop for pictures with us before the match, helped with all logistics, and waited with us until our Uber arrived at the end. Loved this and highly recommend to anyone who is new to Lucha Libre!

Emiliano took us around the historic center of Mexico City and gave us the right level of detail to make it interesting. He has a very good knowledge of the history and was able to answer almost every question of the group. Also a few hints to get fancy and good food are included. He speaks loud and clear so no headphones are required. Recommendation!

Emiliano is a very knowledgeable and personable guide. He shared important facts about the city and the history of Mexico from pre historical times to the current era. He also shared with the group sites of interest and great local spots for food based on specific preferences. Enjoyed the three hour experience and recommend it when you visit Mexico City.

We will keep working to get that extra start in our tour. It is good that you acknowledge that your guide was knowledgeable and personable (which is basic to be the best), and of course it is very important to share tips for everyone’s visit.

My husband and I had a private tour from Mexico City to Teotihuacan. The trip was the highlight of our experience in Mexico City. Our tour guide Oscar was waiting in our hotel lobby and the car was right out front. The car was lovely and Oscar told us alot about Mexico City and its surroundings on our way down. At Teotihuacan we chose to walk the site and it was AMAZING. Oscar was very knowledgeable and he let us choose the pace (a couple of required rests for us as the altitude is high and there are a fair number of stairs!). We enjoyed everything about the tour! On our way home we stopped at Mexico City's main basicilca for a short tour and were surprised how interesting the stop was.
Highly recommend this trip to anyone with time when visiting Mexico City.
