Plaza de La Paz is hard to miss if you’re strolling the streets of Guanajuato anyway, but I still need to reinforce how crucial it is that you experience it when you’re there. Hence my title, this plaza is one of several nuclei for activity for tourists and locals alike. It’s central to most anything else you’ll be doing in the city, so taking in the incredible atmosphere here is easy and important.

It’s safe and easy to navigate. Hope you enjoy this beautiful bundle of history, culture, and architecture in central Guanajuato!

My wife and I walked past this small plaza several times going here and there before we had a really good idea. Instead of rushing through, maybe we should stop, have dinner at one of the cafes that ring the plaza, and watch Mexico stream by us at a speed unknown to the people of the United States. And so we did. It was a delightful experience. To truly appreciate the leisurely pace of Mexican life, you need to be able to slow yourself down enough to actually experience it for yourself. Plaza de la Paz is the perfect place to do that. Oh, by the way, several mariachi bands serenaded us as we sat there.

right in the middle of town just next to the basilica of guanajuato is the plaza de la paz or place of peace. it has a small, grass and flower covered park with benches on a small hill overlooking the streets and outdoor cafes and shops of sopena street. it's a great place to plan to meet people because it is central and, if they're late, you won't mind waiting there because it's so lovely. the basilica is right there, so you must visit it with it's ornate baroque interior.

We ate several times at La Tasca De La Paz in this plaza and found the whole experience delightful. Lots of activity and beautiful sights all around.

You’ll pass by this triangular shaped pedestrian plaza often if you spend a few days in Guanajuato. Several restaurants, with outdoor seating border the plaza. Quite a few food/fruit carts too. Must stroll through after dark to see the Basilica.

Can get very congested with people at times.

Guanajuato is full of plazas and fountains and gardens. Get a good guide book and enjoy all of them. They are all super places to sit and people watch.

Plaza de la Paz is unique compared to a lot of city centers. It is triangular and the Cathedral is the focus point! This is one of those places where you will end up numerous times throughout the day and for good reason. There are several good restaurants and shops on this plaza that are worth checking out. One of the more dominant structures is the Cathedral. The location is just beautiful! The color of the buildings, and pedestrian zone make this plaza truly unique. There are several benches around here, which is great for people watching and eating! The fountain here is beautiful and you can get a lot of great shots with the cathedral in the background. This area cannot be missed!

It is quite difficult to pick among the several little squares dotted with cafés that you can find all over Guanajuato; and this one is definitely one of my favourite ones. Time here seems to stop, and if you need to relax this is just one of the places you need to stop and enjoy a coffee.

This plaza is very nice as it's surrounded by restaurants and cafes. The basilica across from it, is very unique and the inside is adorned with very beautiful art.

I must say this is a very busy spot in Guanajuato as it is a couple if blocks from the Union Jardin and Theatre Juarez.
