Be sure to listen to the "tour" locals standing outside the building give you. You do not go inside the building, they just explain the story of the school and the arquitechture. It is a nice and beautiful building and be sure to ask why it is called the "beehive"!

A little out of the way and definitely a slight uphill climb, but worth checking out. Lots of coffee shops nearby and easy to see on your walk to other parts of town and sights.

This place seems to be always crowded although you can't really visit anything. Still it's quite nice to take a rest on the stairs while looking at Pipila

This is a must see. Take a venture up to the Pipila monument and you an capture a great photo of the university and the surrounding churches, city etc. this will probably be one of your best pictures. We ventured into the student store to buy a hat and shirt.

One of the oldest universities in Latin America. The building from the outside is absolutely stunning. From it towering height over the neighborhood to its long stairway up to the main entrance which is popular hangout for students, locals and tourist. Climb up to the top of the stairs and you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the... More

Unfortunately when we were there..school was out.. So there was not a tour available at the time of our visit.. Just seeing the outside of the building itself at night is worth the view..

This is a beautiful, unique building near the center of Guanajuato. Our favorite thing was climbing the stairs with our kids. It was quite the workout, as Guanajuato is around 6000 feet elevation. Our 6-year-old son did it 8 times and kicked our butts! We had to come back two or three times to do the stairs again and to... More

Didn't go in. Admired the architecture. Would love to go there. How gorgeous. The restaurant just down the street on the gallery was incredible.

Visited while exploring El Centro (Town Center) of Guanajuato, which is packed with history. The university grounds scale uphill from the roadway to an impressive entrance. From the top, you have an excellent view of many other points of interest. Well worth the hike up the 150+ stairs. The book store (at the base), was also worth a visit for... More
