Looking down at the city from El Piplia the colors and magnificence of the buildings is a postcard scene. Guanajuato is Mexico's most beautiful city. How stunning that this University was built to contribute to the surroundings. The white color as a backdrop to the yellow Basilica and the red domes of the churches is such a site to see. Well done!

Guanajuato is a university town. So, naturally, you would expect the university to somewhat dominate the structural scene. Well, this university does much more than that. In a city that is renowned for its quaint ambiance, meandering alley streets, and brightly painted houses, the university stands out for its beauty and size. From the iconic steps (now under extensive repair) to the campus above, it is a truly stunning architectural marvel.

Everytime I come to Guanajuato, I go all the way up and take beautiful pictures of the city, 86 steps to be exact. For the first time we decided to take a tour inside the university and it was pretty cool. If you have the chance go inside and take that tour, it is worth it.

Everything in Guanajuato is to fall in love with. If I were to recommend a Honeymoon in Mexico it would be here!! This university is one of the best in Mexico and a sight to see!!
The architecture has a history that can be well explained by people at the bottom of it who will charge you $1 dll to walk you through the steps, its history and its meaning.
From the top of its stairs, you can see the Pipila memorial, the cathedral and take one of the best pictures from the bottom to the top of the stairs. Must visit!!

The building towers over the other buildings so you will find it easy. Great photo opportunities; also explore the little streets around and click away

Make your way to the roof terrace of this wonderful building after sunset. You will be treated not only to stunning city views ,but also, you will be given a tour around the galaxy through the excellent telescopes of the university observatory. The astronomers here are very helpful and can show you star clusters and nebulae as well as planets and our moon. Well worth a visit and is also free.

There are 2 entrances to the building; you can walk up the outdoor stairs or you can walk in through 2 other entrances on the ground floor (same side or around the corner). The outside architecture is gorgeous; the interior is nothing fancy or special, but it is always nice to walk through a college building for the overall energy and vibe.

It's worth walking up the beautiful limestone stairs from the street. Once you get to the top, ask reception about taking the tiny elevator to the "fourth floor," which is just down the hallway. From the 4th floor terrace, the view is spectacular!

It's a wonderful place to visit and study. The steps are part of the fun. Time to get into shape. Try the Pipila.
