Short taxi or Uber ride from the Centro. Beautiful gardens with small museum included in the inexpensive admission price. Spent 2 hours enjoying the walk through the gardens and the bright sunshine. Brought a small snack and enjoyed it on a park bench. Ride from...More

The walk is a bit much, bus to Hotel Mision--tell the driver or he'll blow past it and you have to trudge back along a busy road with variable shoulders.... But the Hacienda is a fantastic collection of architecture of the rich, the furniture and...More

This was a worthwhile half day trip. This venue is comprised of many different pocket gardens-Italian, Mexican, Roman, etc and several rooms of period furniture. It was a short and inexpensive taxi ride from central Guanajuato and the admission price was very inexpensive. We spent...More

When the heat or the crowded market or the traffic get to you, take a bus, taxi or Uber to this Hacienda not far from the city. Also called Hotel Misión, which is a hotel and has a restaurant, the ex-hacienda has its own entrance...More

This is a large and impressive 17thc hacienda, furnished in the style of that time. The land surrounding it is divided into 17 themed gardens which are all different. We really enjoyed the 1.5 hours we spent here and would have awarded it 5 stars...More

Took the bus out to the Exhacienda, luckily Juan Carlos was there for a tour and totally enjoyed it. He provided the tour, as requested by me, in both Spanish and English. Wonderful man, full of a fascinating history of the place. Gardens were lovely,...More

We enjoyed the peacefulness of the museum Exhacienda San Gabriel de Barrera. We were virtually the only ones there. We followed the signs for the self-guided tour and got to almost all the themed gardens (see photos). This is an arid area, and it is...More

As we viewed the casa, I had a very sad feeling. What a glorious place it used to be, and how badly it needs some maintenance and care now. The gardens are extensive, and impressively build, but some parts are also in need of attention....More

My son has been twice and Carlos was there both times. We were the only visitors when I went. I want to emphasize that there is no cost for the tour and the guide is dependent on tips.

Carlos speaks excellent English. Perhaps your hotel can call for you and get the information you wish. And reserve Carlos for you.
