Went there when there were a big group of children. Its like going on a school trip with kids which was terrible. Boring museum. Maybe I am not a museum person?

When we visited last week, a good part of the museum is closed for renovation, so we didn't really see much. I was a bit disappointed. They should do a better job of letting people know about the partial closure.

I'm a big fan of gawking at dead bodies, from the cremation ghats in Varanasi, India to the Nazca mummies in Peru. But the mummy museum in Guanajuato today was too much, and not in a good way. In a nutshell, if you couldn't afford to keep your loved ones interred (between 1865 and 1958), they got dug up and... More

Not what I expected, but it is a must if you are in Guanajuato. If planning to visit, come early, it's crowdy after 11am. Taking pics with your mobile is allowed for an extra fee.

The museum is in a totally OK state, with a good conservation of the historical heritage this museum represents. The mummys are sometimes in awkward positions and have disturbing backstorys, so small children might have some issues with the tour. For adults though, it's a very enjoyable experience that will undoubtedly last, just as everything that is Guanajuato. No pictures... More

We enjoyed visiting this museum although it was a bit unsettling. We had very young children which wasn't a problem because they didn't quite understand what they were seeing . The museum was well organized and included a very good tour guide.

Lots of dead, mummified bodies. Lots of babies. I sped-walked through the exhibits in 10-15mins, but it's possible that you can spend about 45 mins here on a guided tour.

The site is pretty well prepared to present a sober and objective view of what otherwise could be portrayed a as circus freakshow.. The intro video gives a proper context, but i believe is dispensed only in spanish. It definitely worth the visit... You could go there walking, and you would spare quite a bit of time stopped in the... More

We were standing in a really long queue for about 40 minutes at about 5 pm. Once we got in there was a huge crowd moving around trying to see the "mummies". They are impressive but I couldn't help feeling there was something wrong with me looking at dead people. I left there feeling nauseous.
