Yesterday we visited the Don Quixote museum. Guanajuato has a fixation with DQ. This museum is free! It is in a refurbished mansion with multiple rooms of pictures and sculptures of Don Quixote, many of the quite modern. I like modern art, especially the Mexicans,...More

When in Guanajuato the tranquil cafe inside the Quixote museum is my go-to place for espresso, lattes or steamers. Oftentimes there's a rehearsal going on in the atrium for the not-to-be-missed Thursday evening concerts at the museum. On top of that I try not to...More

I very much enjoyed the variety of interpretations; paintings, drawings, sculptures. From Quixote on a bike to Quixote as an astronaut. What I found most endearing was that, no matter how stylized or abstract the painting or sculpture, you could still tell it was Quixote.

A small, indoor courtyard has some impressive sculptures. There is a really good coffee shop with seats in the courtyard. If you are lucky, you'll hear musicians from the floors above

It's just lots of art about Don Quijote. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, multimedia. A must for fans of El Quijote. The tie in between Guanajuato and this classic book is very interesting. Read up on it first.

For 30 pesos you can walk through 3 floors of art featuring The Don Quixote theme! Very bright and spacious inside with huge murals and sculptures of very high European quality.

Nice museum, great arts, and a lot of historic underneath. Relaxing environment and pleasant staff. Another gem of the Hispanic culture in the Americas!

The story of the young refugee from the Spanish Civil War who escaped to Mexico, had an eminent career and founded this place while accumulating the largest collection of Quixote art really inspired me as did all the incredible views of the knight himself. Having...More
