This statue of the Roman Goddess Minerva wears a hemet and holds a spear as she guards the city. She stands in a large circular fountains that shoots water upwards and is in the middle of a roundabout. This monument was right by our hotel so we saw it several times by day and night. It is just a driveway sight.

This is certainly an avenida you have to drive through. The statue and fountain make a rather majestic impression. Great to see in the day but also beautiful at night when all the different lights in the fountain are on.

Glorieta La Minerva Monument Monument of the Greek Goddess Athena. Located in the center of a busy roundabout. There’s even selfie signs to indicate where to take your pictures.

This is a roundabout. So the bus/car does not stop. Depending on the traffic movement you may or maynot get a good shot...all I got were the back and flanks...I mean how many times can you request your tour operator to drive around? The statue is majestic but not out of the world kind. Take a look, click a few and if the shot does not come out well...at least I did not feel it is the end of the world.

If you like fountains, if you like statues, if you like the Goddess Athena (Minerva), or if you just like seeing really cool stuff, when in Guadalajara you much see the Fountain of Minerva. It is fantastic. Sitting in the middle of a giant fountain in the middle of a traffic circle, she dominates the landscape. And at night she is lit up and commands the night sky. A must see, especially if you are into Greek/Roman Gods and Goddesses.
