Glorieta Chapalita is a small park that's very fun to walk around on Sunday because that's when local artist show off their work. I was impressed with the quality of many of the artist. It's small so it doesn't take much time to walk around. I think we spend 20-30 minutes walking around. There isn't much else to do except eat lunch at one of many restaurant around the park.

Not only is this park a wonderful place to people watch from it's well maintained lawns and rose gardens, it has a bandstand in the center for concerts, and also has a weekly art exibit and sale on Sunday afternoons. During the annual Mariachi festival, this park hosts for no cost, at least 3 or 4 of the best mariachi bands in the entire festival! It is surrounded with some of the cities finest restaurants hotels, Guest houses, B&B's, and not far from other things one must see while visiting this side of the city that few take the time to do. The number of fine dining restaurants intermingled with great taco stands and the famous tortas is almost kept a secret from the tourists that never leave downtown. Come visit the West side of the city for a few days, starting with a nice afternoon at the park and dining in one of the many fine restaurants here!

This is a roundabout in the middle of the Chapalita neighborhood in Guadalajara where every Sunday all day the local painters show their art. It is a fun place to visit, and all about the Glorieta (roundabout) they have little restaurants. This is not a touristy place to go - it is where locals go for a nice Sunday afternoon.

Look, it’s a nice space in the middle of a roundabout. Be aware though that this place is not going to change your life but I have to say that it was a Tuesday when I visited and evidently Sunday is the day to visit.

But don’t do what I did which was to walk a mile and a half along huge highways to get here! If you are local then yes, by all means visit, but this garden is not worth a special trip.

Small park, but great on Sunday when numerous artists sell their wares (manly paintings, but some baskets and figurines as well). Speaking with a local food vendor it appears as though the peak activity is Sunday between noon and 3pm. Google mentioned opening at 10am, however at that time there was one person setting up and people were actively arriving and setting up (probably 15 total then) when we had to leave around 1045 to catch a bus. We didn't get to catch the full event but wanted to leave some time guidelines since we couldn't find any!

One of my all time favorite things to do in Guadalaja is by far spending a Sunday afternoon in the glorieta chapalita, it`s full of local artist and VERY good mexican snacks (ice creams, churros, buñuelos, corn, chips, raspados mmmm everything), I recomend sunday night instead of dinner walk around the park and try as many snacks as you can, if your still hungry walk over to avenida Tepeyac (a couple of blocks from there) and there are amazing tacos, if you have a car drive down on tepeyac towards Niño Obrero and youll see a taco stand FULL off people "Los Alteños" the all time best tacos in Guadalajara, if your willing to try dont miss out on the tounge tacos (tacos de lengua) with green sauce!!!!! and ENJOY!!!!!! this is probably as mexican as a sunday can get!

I walked through this park a lot when I lived here in 2011. It’s still lovely, surrounded by restaurants. A nice respite in a busy location.

Be careful when you cross the avenue. The park area in the middle of this roundabout is a hotspot for local artists to sell their work during the weekends. At night, the lights create a very romantic atmosphere. During the day, it's a nice place for peoplewatching. And to top it all, it's right in the middle of a very quaint restaurant area in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of Zapopan. Very well recommended.

Go to the Glorieta Chapalita and see local artists display their original works. It varies, so if you go once and do not see anything you would like to buy, return again, as the art and artists may be different. Then only a few blocks away are several delicious restaurants where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on which restaurant you choose. Some have excellent Sunday buffets too.
