Staircase Murals
Feb 2020
Only takes a short time to go inside to see Father Hidalgo in action in this vibrant mural and the side mural depicts the Spanish conquest. Orozco's murals are just as famous as Diego Rivera's in the National Palace in Mexico City. These murals truly tell a story and make statements.

Paintings and murals on ceilings and walls

When we were being taken on a tour of the city, we stopped in this building to see some murals. While going up a staircase a mural will meet you face to face. Was very powerful and moving. I recommend that you hire a local tour guide to introduce you to the beautiful murals of this city.

Probably less than an hour but still worth every moment.

This place, for the stories it tells, would be worthy of a handsome entrance fee, but it's completely free. The two enormous murals that depict the end of slavery in 1810 are something to behold. The staff here are very nice. You will not waste your time coming to see this wonderful building and learning something about Mexico's past.

Don’t let the armed guards deter you.

In the same plaza as the cathedral. Beautiful mural on the main stairway wall. On 2nd floor there are statues of famous people from Jalisco. Quick walk through won’t take you long.
