Took the tour last week with a very bright, personable young woman who had an obvious love for the city and what she does. Clane ( apologies if I"ve spelled her name incorrect) gave us a great overview of the significant areas of the downtown core as well as a walk through a very large market. Clane took the time to answer questions and give very detailed explanations. It was a great experience and should be not be missed if you are new to the city. Please note it is important to remember that the guides work for tips and while the tour is billed as "Free" there is an expectation of some compensation. I used the guideline of 200 pesos to tip Clane but was disappointed by one 40ish woman from California and her British female friend who tipped Clane only 50 pesos which is about $2.50 US. Really? If you take this tour please show appropriate appreciation.

Our guide was friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. He was very personable and engaging. The only aspect that wasn't great was that so many public buildings were closed, including tourist kiosks and he didn't know why. I would just suggest he make more effort to keep up with city news so that he can update visitors. Also, the museum he suggested was only half open. Very little to actually see. Still, it was a very pleasant tour.

Carlos had a large group but did a magnificent job communicating in both English and Spanish to satisfy all. This 3 hour tour was both informative and entertaining. Highly recommend to get a glimpse of the city then decide where you wish to spend your time.

Good day We noticed that you did NOT make a booking, please remember that for a guide to show up you need to make a booking in advanced.

My husband reserved 3 tours with this group over the Easter weekend and they never showed, despite a deposit and confirmation email. We got to the appointed waiting place 10 minutes before and stuck around 15 minutes after. The square was very busy so we gave them plenty of extra time. Nothing. There were no follow up emails or texts to explain why they did not show.

Do not buy online you will pay double the amount. Do not worry about reserving when you walk Guadalajara there are tons of tour vendors for half the price half!
Always pay in pesos and if possible do not let them know you are from USA.

I recently did the lake Chapala and Ajijic tour I contacted Tono and Cecilia thru their website on google and was told I needed to reserve.(lie) and that I could pay online or in person. I wanted to pay in pesos but my mistake was contacting them on the phone and whatsapp from USA. They priced me for $650 pesos per person. We arranged to meet up at the hotel 2 days before the tour and I gave Cecilia a deposit of $500 pesos. She told me to not to talk or buy tours from people on the street because they were not reliable which is a total lie. I saw her selling tours on they street later that day. I asked my tour group how much they paid and the paid $350 pesos per person and they bought the tour on the street walking in Guadalajara historic downtown a day before.
About the tour, is a tour to Chapala only not Ajijic. We stopped at Chapala for 2 hrs and we drove thru Ajijic but never stopped there. They fit more people in the van they what they supposed to, this was very uncomfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Guadalajara centro. Our guide, Diego, was knowledgeable and charming. He introduced us to some of the fascinating history of this amazing city as we took in many of the historical sights. Diego endeavoured to answer many of our questions about local and Mexican culture. He was patient and approachable, and had a great sense of humour. Highly recommended!

While staying in Guadalajara my wife and I happened upon this free walking tour of Guadalajara.

We met our guide, a young girl with a unique name (Clane I believe). She was holding a large Pink and white umbrella that says FREE TOUR.

We walked around old Guadalajara stopping at all of the historic points along the route.

Our guide thoroughly explained the history and significance of each spot with a wonderful dash of humor to liven things up. She had the answer to all the questions we had. It was nice that our guide was ok with letting us into some of the not so pretty history of Mexico. Very refreshing to not have a sugar coated view of a countries history.

I would definitely recommend this free tour.

Please if you take this tour tip graciously you will not find this good a tour for less than $500 Mx.

If this is your first time in Guadalajara's Centro Historico district, THIS is the tour you want to sign up for. My husband and I booked this tour for the morning of our first full day in Guadalajara. We were lucky that there was a light rain the morning of the tour and the others who signed up for the walking tour did not show up. But our guide, Carlos was right there on time with his pink umbrella and we had him all to ourselves! Lucky us! Carlos was a fantastic guide full of knowledge about the city's history and the significance of its architectural delights. We most admired his enthusiasm, passion and ability to share his historical knowledge as a back drop for more contemporary issues the city is facing. This walking tour was laid out perfectly and it really helped us get oriented to our surroundings and to some of the sights we knew we wanted to go back to for further exploration. We also asked our guide about places to eat certain foods and all of his recommendations were spot on!

Carlos was an exceptional guide and a great ambassador for both his city and his country. Well versed in both English and Spanish, well-traveled, passionate, funny and insightful, and genuinely enthusiastic in welcoming visitors. THANK YOU!

Sergio is an amazing tour guide. His English is perfect. He took us on the walking tour and the food tour which was great to have back to back. Wow...don't even hesitate taking this tour. Was one of the best food tours. We really liked being able to choose what we wanted to try. Great tour!
