The beach is great for swimming with normally small surf. It is very shallow for a long way out. easy access by street or from the several hotels. Lots of good cafes and bars. Our favorite Zihua location to stay.

A lot of locals here. I view that as a good thing, not bad. Better than Playa Municipal and definitely not as nice as Playa La Ropa. We enjoyed our stroll there.

And this is a place it controls with an iron fist. If you go, you will be one of a few and everybody will fight over you. Especially do not go to the Rana Rene- straight up run by the mob.

This is a nice beach to play in the water or walk along- maybe stop for a snack or beverage. The neighborhood is nice too- steep hills though! We enjoyed this area greatly- also, not too much pushy sales people - a plus in my...More

This review only concerns Playa Madera - the neighbourhood itself we did not find especially interesting. We went in late June which is low season and stayed at a hotel right on the beach. The beach is clean enough and great for bodysurfing. The setting...More

The best in town swimming beach. 10 minute walk to even better Playa Ropa. Unbeatable restaurant under the sail shade. I body surfed every day and ate there at night. The best beach to stay at for $100 a night. Cheaper but good places 3...More
