And this is a place it controls with an iron fist. If you go, you will be one of a few and everybody will fight over you. Especially do not go to the Rana Rene- straight up run by the mob.

This is a decent beach but not the best in the area. The sand here is very fine, which makes for some good walking and a firm base when in the water, but it also gets stirred up easily, making the water a little murky....More

We really enjoyed this area of Zihua. The shops are authentic and the people very friendly. The feel of the neighbourhood is laid back and relaxing. There are lots of eateries, restaurants and bars to satisfy your thirst and hunger. On La Madera beach there...More

This review only concerns Playa Madera - the neighbourhood itself we did not find especially interesting. We went in late June which is low season and stayed at a hotel right on the beach. The beach is clean enough and great for bodysurfing. The setting...More

Lots happening in La Madera neighborhood. Many Restaurants boutiques, a cooking school with Monica, walkway to the beach of La Madera. We have stayed in this area many times and like it a lot!

Every time we come to Zihuatanejo, we stay in a hotel in Colonia La Madera. It's friendly, close to the center of town with a variety of good restaurants and hotels.

La Ropa gets all the reviews and little is said about Madera beach. We found this beach to be the nicest beach in the bay. Shallow, warm and very few waves. A swimmers delight.
