ciclopista rainforest bicycle path
May 2021 • Family
Ciclopista rainforest bicycle path: 9.7Km each way; nice path; rent a bike .5-1Km into the path--near Amara Hotel; few options to rent; we paid 80 Pesos/hr; we biked both ways and rented bikes for 2hrs; stop on the bridge (around 8-9Km marker); this is the rainforest/animal section; very enjoyable way to see parts of Ixtapa and get some exercise to balance out the beach bum/drinking time; highly recommend it!

Fishing with Big Ben
Feb 2021 • Solo
Went out deep sea fishing with Jose and Gustavo, booked by Big Ben. Ben picked us up at 6:15 am at the hotel, took us to the dock and boarded the boat. Drove out approximately 20 miles, dropped gear and started trolling. Within 30 minutes we had hooked two sailfish at the same time. Wow. Great guys. Great day. Thanks.

Beautiful sunsets
Jan 2021 • Couples
Explore! Beautiful scenery and people. We’ve yet to have a bad meal. The sunsets are gorgeous! If you stay at the Thompson or further left you’ll see better sunsets or plan dinner early enough to watch it from many Ana omg restaurants! Beach is clean.

unbelievable
Jul 2020
Maybe the best kept secret in Mexico is this bay. It's has tourists, but mostly Mexicans. It's vibrant, alive, with incredible vistas and natural topography. The water is clear in some areas and less clear in others. The beaches vary from sandy to rocky. There is endless places to grab a chair and a bucket or ice cold beer. Tons of restaurants, fancy and meager and in between. This is one of the best places on the planet.

Lovely Fishing Town
Mar 2020
We enjoyed our 10 days here. The people are warm and friendly and very helpful. The scenery is beautiful and the great beaches offer a wide variety of activities. It is hot and humid (we were there in March), but in the shade, by the pool or by the beach it is very nice. The sunrises are spectacular and the food very good. There is a military presence here which makes you feel secure. We snorkeled, went fishing, took a water taxi to Playa Las Gatas Beach and walked around the town. You will not be a loss to find a good restaurant. It is hilly and has cobblestone streets, but a fun place.

Zihuatanejo Bay
Feb 2020
It has many smaller bays to visit. One of them is La Ropa beach which is so beautiful. So many places to eat with different flavours. The water is a pleasant temperature to swim or just play. You can’t go wrong to which beach you plan to visit.

Massage - La Ropa Beach
Feb 2020 • Couples
Beach massage in one of the white tents may be cheap (200 pesos) but the worst I’ve ever received. No training. Had no idea what they were doing. Down at one end of the beach at Daisey’s Massage, pay 300 or 400 for deep therapeutic and still one of best massages I’ve ever had. Period.

What a hidden gem! We are staying in the bay in between playa la Madera and playa la Ropa. I fall asleep every night to the sound of crashing waves. It’s heaven!

I liked this Bay 💕
Jan 2020
Not as nice of a beach or water as la ropa but you can find some good sandy areas and water is warm and clean to swim. Can walk around the bay easily. Lots of little places to grab a drink on the beach. Few vendors but not many. Close walk to shops. Nice day spent. No resorts or hotels so feels very comfy and small town.
