Totally enjoyed this house tour from start to finish. It was very well organized, the guide and docents were well informed, entertaining and helpful. The houses were fantastic. It is a wonderful way to spend time and money supporting the IFC’s charities.

The home and hotel visits were terrific. The group leaders were all wonderful, sharing their PV lives with us and giving lessons in PV history that were insightful. Since the money taken in is spent on helping children it’s a win-win.

With IFC home tour we previewed magnificent homes in scenic areas that we wouldn’t have otherwise visited. Each home offered unique decor and architecture and fabulous views! Our bus was comfortable& we commend our driver for maneuvering the vehicle down Narrow roadways and up steep hills . Our guide, Larisa, shared information about Puerto Vallarta as well as having a good sense of humor. The other volunteers, Shirley and Janice, offered detailed descriptions of each of the homes. A lovely day enjoyed by all! It is especially heartwarming knowing that the proceeds from the home tours go to help others in need here in Puerto Vallarta, since the IFC is run by volunteers. We highly recommend this tour and look forward to returning next year.

3 volunteer docents…Bob, Jeff, and oops one name I forgot. They were very knowledgeable and considerate of all as everyone was at a different level of mobility. I also like that they are expats but spend a lot of time advocating for the local community… re supporting the arts, tipping , excetera. Houses were great, a really fun 4 hours!

Was expecting some complaints from my teen, but we all had a terrific experience visiting 3 unique homes filled with art and/or beautiful views.
The docents were knowledgeable, the transport was easy between locations and the homes were each so lovely in their own way.
Many people had been on the tour 2,3 or more times visiting different houses. My teen asked if we could go again! That is the highest compliment he could give!!
Plus the fee all goes to charity.

We had heard from a cousin that the home tour was a great experience…we weren’t disappointed ! All the volunteers met us at the Sea Monkey and made us feel welcome. Our guides (Wendy, Betsy, and Judith) shared the background on each house on route. They did a great job. Shout out to the bus driver who navigated the steep twisty streets with ease. The houses we saw were all awesome!!
We will definitely recommend to friends.

We toured several beautiful homes with amazing views of the bay decorated with carefully curated art. The all volunteer guides shared their knowledge of the homes and provided background information about Puerto Vallarta history and culture. It was extremely enjoyable and satisfying to know that all the money went to several local charities that help change people’s lives. This tour was well organized and smoothly executed.

We went to the museum first. That was very interesting. Then the houses. All I can say is WOW!!!! The art, the size of the homes, the infinity pools, the views. Fantastic. Our guides were top notch. There were 2 Karens and Shirley (I think) . The bus driver did such a good job and was pretty cool about the backing up into the streets and narrow roads. A job well done. My friends enjoyed the coast line views too.

The tour was great and we saw 4 beautiful homes in one day. Each home was very distinctive and one was a huge 22000 sf. Even more the tour leaders were very knowledgeable not only about the homes visited but about local information of Puerto Vallarta and support information about history of the city. Mike, our tour leader, even told us about the whales that visit the area and their traits. I highly recommend this tour.

This was our fourth tour with IFC. We always try to plan our vacation so that we will be there for the tour. Hopefully at some point we’ll be able to spend longer periods of time in Puerto Vallarta but for now it’s a favorite vacation destination. I highly recommend this tour. The one we’ve just went on was a little bit different and very special. Thank you to all the IFC people involved in the tour. You were great! Looking forward to next year and the next tour.

I was wondering if the homes were different each week because I would like to take a tour two weeks in a row but didn't want to see the same houses

We try very hard to showcase 4 different homes in consecutive weeks. However these owners all open their homes at N/C to the IFC.. Therefore our scheduler has to work around availability. We have 60 homes in our inventory but it is all based on availability.

We will be staying in Bucerias in January for 2 weeks and are interested in booking but as the tickets are non-exchangeable, want to wait as long as possible due to our schedule as well. We have limited days we'll be there to book a tour and wondered how often , in the past, the tickets are completely sold out and how far ahead of schedule this happens? It appears many book this the day of the tour. I can't see on a calendar how booked any of the 4 days we have available currently are? That would certainly help choose a time. Anyone know if it's possible to check in advance for how full they are or how many busses go each day? I can't seem to find any recent reviews for this tour. Thanks.
Written November 26, 2018
In January and most tours do sell out but not until day of tour. We run 3 busses each tour day during those months. You are generally ok to book a few days before tour or if you are there by 9 am day of tour but we cannot guarantee tickets for walk ins. It is best to book ahead if possible.

Arriving via Cruise Ship on Tuesday March 14. will you have a tour that day? If we take a taxi to the restaurant is that where we buy our ticket? Does the tour bus return to the same restaurant? The ship is in PVR from 8a-8p. Also do you accept Credit Cards or cash only? and if cash only is it pesos or can I pay in US dollars? Looking forward to coming to PVR.

Hello, A friend and I are coming to PV for the upcoming weekend. I have read about your tours before and am very interested in joining one. Can you let me know if they are running at this time of year and if so the times and dates of the tours running this weekend. Oct 10, 11 or 12th.
Thank you, Melanie P.

Melanie, thank you for your interest in the IFC Home Tours. Unfortunately the tours only run in Vallarta's high season, generally November through March. This year we don't begin a
until November 17th. We're sorry you'll miss us this trip but hope you'll join us on your next "in season" trip to Vallarta. Thanks again.

How much does it cost? Is there a place to get on the bus in town? Can you use public transportation to get to the Tour?
Written May 17, 2015
Thanks for your inquiry about the IFC Home Tours. The Cost per person is 500 pesos (about $35 USD). You can get public transportation from out of town to any downtown location. The tour bus boards at the Sea Monkey restaurant on the south malecon at Aquiles Serdan just a few blocks from downtown. Our tours resume in November. More information on our website ifctoursforvallarta. Thanks again. We hope you can join us next season!

There is no wifi on the bus during the tour, which lasts about 3 hours. The restaurant Sea Monkey where we depart does have free wifi if you wish to come for breakfast, the tours group arrives at 9 AM and departure is 10:30

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
