Great food and new culinary skills!
We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class and learned some new culinary skills! The food was delicious, we made sopas and tamales along with guacamole and red and green salsa. We look forward to returning to expand our menu expertise the next time we are in Puerto Vallarta. Rosie and her family were very welcoming into their beautiful home.

    A special day with Rosie!
Attended a cooking class on 11/15/23-met Rosie at the market to purchase the ingredients, learn about everything at market, went to her house- which was beautiful, and made about 6 authentic Mexican dishes, including our own tortillas! Rosie is fascinating, charming and an expert at what she does! A very special day I will do again next visit!

    Best day ever!!
Rosie goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome and provide them a cultural experience like none other. Walking through the market Rosie explained the items and where they are native to, along with having us try them. Then arriving at her house your mind is blown away by what lays behind those closed doors. An amazing experience of cooking, culture, and history. If you pass by this tour without booking it, you are not smart. Rosie crushes the cooking experience. Book it now, or forever wonder what you have missed.

    Magical Cooking Experience
Rosie is hands down the best cooking class I have ever attended. My wife and I love doing cooking classes as we have traveled the world and this experience was purely magical. Rosie guide you through the process that has been passed down for generations. I would take this cooking class more often if I could. Everyone that was with our small group was in awe of the experience and the food. This is the cooking class that should not be missed, even if you live local.

Simply the best foodie experience I have had!
Rosie’s class was recommended by a guest at my hotel. I booked the Tamales class. It turns out I was the only guest that day, but Rosie and her team went all out to make sure I had the best possible experience. She picked me up from the Gallerias Vallarta shopping mall and was clearly identifiable by her logo on her shirt. First we went to one of PV’s three major markets, where Rosie knew everyone and I got a broad education on Mexican produce and products. Everything was so fresh including the “green juice”. Then it was off to Rosie’s home in the Del Mar neighbourhood, which is authentically Mexican, including the noisy rooster who lives next door! Rosie and her husband have gradually expanded their home over the past 30 years or more and it now includes an expansive and very colourful cooking studio. We made salsa, guacamole, tortillas, masa, pork tamales and chilli relenos. I had Rosie’s full attention and learnt a lot. And the food was delicious. Next, Rosie showed off her traditional Jalisco dress, and then gave me a tour of her garden, including the roof garden. She seems to grow every herb and edible plant that thrives in the area and she knows exactly what they all do. The aromas were intoxicating. I left with half a dozen starfruit, enough food for several days, my purchases from the market, and a new Rosie’s apron. Rosie’s husband, who is also a tour guide, drove me back to the meeting point. The whole experience was the highlight of my trip and Rosie and her team are highly professional. I will be back. Do not miss this wonderful foodie experience! I would give it 6 stars if I could.

    Best Cooking Class ever!
We try to do a cooking class everywhere we travel outside of the US and Rosie's was probably the best we have ever done! From the moment she picks you up til the time her husband, Archie drops you off, you are in for a real treat! With Rosie's guidance, we made the most delicious dishes as a group and to say we were blown away would be an understatement! The Ceviche was the most delicious I will ever have until I make it myself, as I now have the recipe! The Red Snapper was divine. Rosie finishes your experience with a demonstration of a beautiful part of her culture by wearing a beautiful ceremonial dress, complete with a ceremonial dance and then we toured her very elaborate garden.....so beautiful. Trust me when I say that if you are in Puerto Vallarta, this is a must see, must do activity! You will love it!! Thank you again Rosie and your family for the best time ever! We will be back!

    Best cooking experience
Absolutely fantastic experience- we went as a group of three 20-some during a girls trip and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Rosie picked us up and took us to the market, where she showed us how to pick fresh ingredients and recommended certain little gifts to buy. Then she took us to her house, a wonderfully beautiful place with a welcoming and open outdoors kitchen! I wouldn’t necessarily call this a cooking “class”, only because it was so much more than that. The whole experience was personal, fun, with added flare every step of the way. In total, from market to cooking to eating, to an impromptu dance with their grandchildren, I could not recommend this more

👏👏👏👏👏👏 For my daughter and me, this was a great and memorable part of our journey to PV. We fell in love with Rosie. She was all of the following: kind, knowledgeable, generous, talented, informative, fun. Her home is amazing. The food we made with her guidance was outstanding! Her tour of her medicine garden was so pleasantly overwhelming, we learned so much. We give Rosie two very enthusiastic 👍 thumbs 👍 up.

    Learn all about Mexican food.
Had a great day that started at the fish market to get the freshest snapper and shrimp. Also all the veggies and fruits we need for the preparation. Rosie is very good at explaining what everything in the market is for and how to choose the best. Then we went to her wonderful home where she has a big kitchen for teaching. Lo te s of fun and great food.

Do not miss this! We travel frequently all over the world and always try to take a cooking class in order to really experience the traditional food and culture of the country. Rosie was kind enough to accommodate our group of 6 at the last minute on a day that she doesn’t usually offer classes. She picked us up- took us her local market where we purchased all the fresh ingredients for our meal and took us to her home where we prepared a delicious meal. A truly authentic experience where she shared both her home and family with us - we can’t thank her enough for a truly memorable experience!

Rosie was a wonderful host. Our class included 4 adults and 2 teenagers, and everyone was engaged throughout. The market tour was very informative and we learned a lot about local ingredients. The cooking was excellent with a good balance between instruction and hands-on cooking. Her house is warm and inviting, and well setup for a class this size. And most importantly, the food we cooked was great. At the end we came away very full and with a lot of tips that will make our home cooking better. Thank you Rosie!

A day with Rosie shopping cooking eating and drinking. Honestly a great day. Usually in a cooking school like this you have five or six couples, Rosie just reopened only took us for the day. It was like being a guest in her home and sharing a meal with her family. Pork Adobo hot and spicy, Fish tacos to die for, Spanish rice cooked in butter, milk and chicken broth. For dessert roasted banana with condensed milk. I can tell you I am thanksgiving stuffed. I am sure when she starts taking multiple couples you all will enjoy her hospitality. Great food very nice people truly a great day and we will surely be back.

We just got back from our 2 weeks in Puerto Vallarta, a place we have been many times before. This time, however, we finally did something we've been saying we'll do for a long time - we signed our family of 7 (ages 25-85 years) up for a private cooking class with Rosie! We have unanimously agreed that this was one of the best and most memorable things we have done in Mexico. Rosie and Archie picked us all up and whisked us away from the resort area of PV and up into the residential area a couple of km away to their home, which they have lovingly transformed into Rosie's kitchen and dining area. We were educated, fed, entertained and treated like we were guests in their home. In the 4 -5 hours we were there we prepared, and helped to prepare, traditional Mexican guacamole, chilli rellenos, tamales, tortillas (from the grinding of corn stage!) and traditional Easter bread pudding. Archie, our driver we met from previous trips to PV, treated us to margaritas and tequila shots. We met their children, had a tour of Rosie's rooftop garden, had an amazing Mexican meal and were entertained by Rosie dancing for us. When we returned back to our hotel later that night, we had all felt like we had just come back from visiting good friends in PV. We will be back! Thank you for such a memorable night and for sharing your traditional recipes, Rosie!

Spent Valentine’s Day with my wife at Rosies’s Cooking School. Day began shopping with Rosie for our meals ingredients. Had a behind the scenes look at how a large market works in Puerto Vallarta, so interesting! From there it was to her house to begin the meal prep. Her home is beautiful and so tasteful! Rosie even had it decorated for our valentines class, so thoughtful! Loved helping with the meal preparation, including learning how to make tacos and tortillas! Rosies’s husband, who has an extensive knowledge in bar tending ,made us pina coladas, and provided some delicious tequila for us to taste! Our meal was multiple courses of delicious food! The whole experience was something we will remember and hope to return to do another time! We have tried other cooking schools but Rosies’s special touches and beautiful personality made this one the most memorable!!

Learning to prepare traditional local cuisine in an authentic home is the best way to experience the true culture of a place! Rosie picks her clients up at the Galleria Mall and, while discussing what the day's clients wish to prepare, transports them to a neighborhood market where the locals shop for their produce, proteins and other necessities. This is where she, then, purchases the ingredients needed to make some truly delicious dishes! Then she whisks them off to her home to spend several fun-filled hours learning about the history of the foods and cuisine of the region and preparing the food. Each year we've met interesting people, prepared and eaten marvelous food and come home with new delights to prepare at home! This is a definite must-do for anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta!

We loved Rosie's cooking class! We did it on our first day in Puerto Vallarta, and it was the perfect way to start out trip. She gave us a tour of several neighborhoods and told us their history on our way to the farmers market. When we got there, she introduced some unique fruits and veggies (a few citrus varieties we had never seen before) and taught us how to find ripe ones.

We then drove back to her beautiful home, where she has an indoor/outdoor setup that was relatively cool even on a hot PV day. She has tons of amazing fruit trees, herbs, and local remedies she showed us and gave us history on.

We made a few kinds of roasted and fresh salsas, beer battered shrimp tacos, grilled fish with rice, and more. Everything was delicious, and even though we both cook a lot back home, we learned some great tips and tricks that we are excited to try.

Overall we had an amazing time and highly recommend the experience for anyone who wants an authentic experience (and who loves good food!).

The day began with a tour of the fresh food market where Rosie selected the ingredients for the day's cooking. For me, it was a fantastic experience to learn how PV residents have easy access to the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, and seafood. We also discovered a great place to have breakfast and lunch along side the worker. There were 9 people in our class and Rosie transported us in her comfortable van to the market and her home kitchen. Her kitchen area was spacious and she was excellent in explaining each step in the process for different salsas, tamales, guacamole, and flan. All of us were put to work making each dish. When it came time to eat, Rosie's husband (a professional bartender) provided superb Margaritas and Tequila shots. Rosie demonstrated traditional Mexican costuming and dancing. A delightful day - 9am to 2:30p. We will return, as each day Rosie offers a different menu!

Do not miss this! Every minute spent with Rosie in conversation, shopping, cooking, or at the table was delight! This experience is more than just cooking lessons. It is journey into the beauty of another culture where you’ll be mesmerized by the sights, sounds, conversation, stories, and tastes. She told stories about life growing up, demonstrated a traditional Mexican dance in a beautiful flowing dress, shared recipes, and spent a few hours teaching us to cook and enjoy many appetizers, meals, tortillas, and desserts! And her son, who just finished studying culinary arts in college, was a wonderful addition to the experience!

Rosie's Vallarta Cooking was an amazing experience. We were there today and the first stop was the market to buy our fresh ingredients. This was a great experience by itself! Now I know a new place to buy vegetables and fruits!
We then went to her house which was really set up perfect for class. We had carne asada tacos, made our own tortillas, made green and red salsa, had shrimp tostadas, and had a great meal of red snapper. We also had an amazing desert! Rosie showed us every step of the way in making our food and with her husband Archie, this experience was truly amazing. I've had many cooking classes in my life but this one really stands out as superior and first class. I 100% recommend it to anyone in Puerto Vallarta who wants to enjoy a great cooking class!! I will be going again!!
