My partner and I did the Spirits of Mexico tasting and loved it. In the 2-3 hour tasting you'll trying 6 liquors, learn a ton about mezcal, and appreciate the drink and the value of buying from small producers in a new way. The team is incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend even if you think you don't like tequila or wouldn't enjoy sipping it straight, especially if you'll be in this part of Mexico for a while and want to learn to enjoy the local drinks more.

COVID note: Tastings are outside in a backyard. We were given the option of joining another group of 2 or scheduling our own tasting. The guides wore masks the whole time. They were happy to answer my questions in advance so we could feel safe scheduling!

Booked the Tequila & Food Tasting and it was a great experience that I absolutely recommend.

Alice and Corinna were wonderful hosts. Alice taught us so much about the history and process of making tequila which is actually quite interesting! We 100% walked away with an appreciation for tequila that we never had.

The meal paired fantastically with the tequila and Alice was very knowledgeable about the dishes as well.

We visited mid-November and felt totally comfortable with the COVID precautions Alice and Corinna took to keep both us and them safe.

The staff at Vallarta Tequila Tastings responded quickly to questions, were friendly, and very accommodating and helpful when our grumpy two year old smacked a glass over (🤦🏼‍♀️). Our time and money was well spent with these ladies.

No hesitation in recommending an tequila tasting experience with Vallarta Tequila Tasting.

What a great time! I felt like previously, I kept having a lot of food failures but this definitely made for a happy me! We arrived a bit early and were promptly greeted by Alice, our host for the evening.

Let me preface this by saying, if you are looking for a shot throwing turn up, this is NOT for you. HOWEVER, if you enjoy food food (like most do) and an artisan pairing, this is the spot for you.

During the tequila and food pairing, there is a serious deep dive into what tequila is, where it originated and how and why certain foods pair so well. Our host Alice, was so excited as she shared all of her knowledge of tequila. As a chef herself, she understands the complexity of food flavors and how powerful the right touch of tequila can bring. Swish and swirl. Swirl and swish. Smell the body and the aromas - what a pleasure it was!

We had an artisan tequila, Arette was the chosen brand, and it was a four-course spread paired with some absolutely delicious tequila. We enjoyed jaw dropping ceviche with green apple and basil oil (yummers!). Next course was tortilla soup which was so good I asked for another cup of just broth. The third course was the chicken mole. Hearing how in depth this sauce is made and the variations and then experiencing it with the tequila and its delicious smokiness. Ummm ummmm ummmm! The fourth course was FLAN! I’m not a flan fan but I took one to go. And the tequila that was paired with it? Lawdddddddd it went down smooth and with a warmth that will give you something special on the chilliest day.

What I also appreciated was how intimate the scene was and how Corinna made it a point to keep social distancing at the forefront. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and when we are blessed with the opportunity to return to PVR, the chocolate and tequila pairing (YES, you read that right lol!) is on deck! Disfruten y buen provecho!

Or, is it that chocolate goes so well with tequila? Regardless of how you ask the question, you will have an amazing time discovering the answers at the tequila and chocolate pairing; I sure did! We sampled a vertical flight of Arette tequilas starting with a blanco and finishing with a smooth, caramely super añejo. And with each of the tequilas we got to try two artisanal chocolates (from the Choco Museo) that were specially made to bring out the notes of each of the tequilas. They were all so different and delicious.

Throughout the session, our instructor discussed the history and distillation process of tequila, why the tequilas were different and how to really taste them and notice the differences. We learned about the specific characteristics of each tequila and how the chocolates were developed to pair with them... and so much more! I was impressed by the depth of her knowledge.

Whether you know a lot about tequila or next to nothing, you will learn so much and have a fantastic time at the Vallarta Tequila Tastings tequila and chocolate tasting. I can't wait to attend the tequila and food pairing class!

This tequila tasting was such an unexpected treat! Corrine has a top notch business. We learned so much about tequila from Alice. Who knew it was so interesting and delicious?!! The food paring was a true cook’s delight. The chef from Restaurant Casa Tradicional prepared a spectacular gourmet meal! Thank you Villarta Tequila Tasting and Restaurant Casa Tradicional! We will be back!

Corinna was able to accept a very late booking for the ‘Spirits of Mexico’ tasting experience and I was absolutely blown away by the expertise of Edgar, who was an amazing story teller, educator and communicator of everything tequila and mezcal!

Best of all, the tasting was in a private, air conditioned room (which is extremely important in the steamy climate of Puerta Vallarta) and the selection of spirits by the company really provide for a comprehensive experience.

Be sure to book a tasting with Corinna and her wonderful team, you will thank me later.

¡Vamos!

I was so intrigued by the idea of tequila and chocolate pairing I HAD to get a group together. 5 of us embarked the adventure. Alice, our host, shared the history of tequila and offered sipping tips. The artisan tequilas that were served were not anything close to what you'd expect or probably anything you've drank. Nothing short of amazing. The chocolates, specially formulated for tequila pairing by Cocoa Musso were extraordinary.

If you're visiting Vallarta or live here full time. This is a MUST do. You won't regret it.

Firstly, one BIG shout out to our host, Edgar, who made our tasting experience so memorable! We did the 'Spirits of Mexico' tasting, which was super informative, interesting and, without a doubt, so much fun! His obvious passion for tequila was infectious and we couldn't help but be wrapped up in the history of tequila while sipping some high quality spirits. I love that this experience was not just about drinking tequila, but learning its origins and appreciating different notes, which left us with a new admiration for Mexican spirits. We would highly recommend this experience and will be returning on our next PV trip!

We came with a group to Puerto Vallarta for a long weekend. One thing I wanted to do was a tequila tasting as I have little to no knowledge of the differences between tequilas, raices and mezcals. I booked a group with 7 of us for the Spirits of Mexico. we had Manny who guided us through the history and differences of these spirits. Also he provided ideas for pairing the various spirits. It was exactly what I was looking for. We had a great time at our tasting which was a little more than 2 hours long. Located in the Versailles neighborhood, it was a 15 minute ride to get there and allowed us an opportunity to see the city outside of the touristed Zona Romantica. I would highly recommend this if you are interested in tequilas, mezcals and the culture of Mexico.

Great tasting experience! My mom and I learned so much about the origins of tequila and how it is made. The tequila is top notch and pairing it with the chocolate really enhances the experience. Our guide was experienced and well versed in all things tequila but never made us feel bad for our lack of knowledge. He was very friendly and welcomed all our questions and input. This would be a great experience for a group, but it was just my mom and I and we had a great time!
