Peyote People specializes in the yarn paintings and bead art done by the Wixarika known as the Huichol Indians. For almost 20 years now we have been working with a couple very traditional families that live in the Sierra Madre mountains of Jalisco. You will also find a great selection of dance masks and Mexican folk art including Oaxacan black clay pottery, and wood carvings known as alebrijes. Ceramic pottery by Javier Servin from Gto. and the original Catrina sculptures from Capula Mich.

This lovely gallery shows a beautiful and extensive collection of especially Huichol art. Moreover, the owner is a great expert in the field, he can tell you everything about the Huicholes, their culture, history and art. A must-do in Puerto Vallarta.

This is my favorite of the galleries that I saw in Puerto Vallarta because the art was different than any I have seen elsewhere. It features native art that is representative of the area, but elevated somewhat above the typical creations from local artisans.

Amazing selection of art and style. So many things to look at and trust me if I had more money I would have left with a little of everything. Definitely recommend visiting the store and ask about the art walk self-guided tour.
