Blue Chairs is a little beach bar serving drinks and beach food, and offering blue beach chairs with rainbow upholstery and umbrellas. It is across the street from the Blue Chairs Resort. They are located in the heart of the PV gay community and definitely cater to the gay community. However they are both gay-friendly and straight-friendly. Our family had... More

OK, so I have been coming to the Blue Chairs Beach Palapa's for some time now. It is always a great experience. Great view, cold drinks, great wait staff. Let me point out one member....FRANCISCO!!!! Not only does he remember me, I feel like I am an old friend. Where else ca you go and feel like that. He is... More

I've been coming to Vallarta for over ten years. Had my first Blue Chairs experience this week, and only because "green chair" Ritmos Cafe next door was closed for the day. I don't plan to return. Cramped and crowded. Service was barely acceptable. Lunch was flavorless and tasted like warmed-over Taco Bell. Way too much attitude overall for a business... More

Thought the facility is in need of some maintenance, the wait staff more than makes up for it. Francisco and Miguel were our favorites!

The location on the gay beach is still prime, but with the much more spacious green chairs right next to it and the high-end, well-run Mantamar beach club just beyond that, there's no reason left to go to blue chairs. Our inept server had to be flagged down every time we needed something, reminded multiple times that we ordered something,... More

This hotel has a good, bad and ugly side. THE GOOD: ========== *The blue chairs beach restaurant has decent food (for options on the beach) and the chairs and umbrellas are free provided you keep ordering food and drink (which is very reasonable). *The Staff of the Blue Chair Beach area are GREAT, very attentive and VERY friendly... you will... The Blue Chairs is gay friendly but also was very friendly to non-gay couples. It is up very high and the décor is beautiful. We talked to some very friendly people that live in Mexico. Drinks were strong and delicious.

Over the years.. service and quality of food went down. It is a great place to meet others, but I would recommend who are you connecting with. Be careful with drugs!

The hotel is in terrible condition and needs renovation ASAP. The beach club also is not popular anymore. Most gays are going to green chairs or Mantamar beach club which are located right after blue chairs.
