Just got back from my second trip with fishing rebels. My first trip was way back in 2012 when we booked a last minute trip and ended up getting a outstanding day of bottom fishing for snapper and seabass and then chasing big rooster fish.
That day was so memorable that it made it an easy decision to book fishing rebels for a trip when I returned to the area this year.
Booking was easy and I got a confirmation email right away as well as several other emails letting me know how the fishing was leading up to our trip day.
This was very important to me because Fishing Rebels was very honest about what we could expect to catch on the day of our trip.
A little over a week before we arrived a big storm had hit the area and the fishing really slowed down. Jonny was honest with us that allot of the bigger fish were in the bay due to the storm but we could expect to catch allot of smaller fish and we would still try for some bigger game.
We did try for some bigger fish but they were just not around. We did catch several smaller fish of various species that crew made into fresh ceviche on the boat for us.
During the trip we were also able to see several pods of dolphins as well as several turtles.
Even though the fishing was slow overall that day I am already considering booking another 4 hour trip so I can take my daughter out with me.
The boat we were on was clean and well maintained with top of the line fishing equipment and a great crew.
I would highly recommend booking a trip with Fishing Rebels if you are in the Peurto Vallarta area.

We booked online through the fishing rebels website, 6 hours selection
on the secret weapon with captain Luis and Carlos as the deckhand.
Clean boat with a toilet, only minor complaint would be when captain Luis shifted into reverse on occasion there was slight vibration. Compared to other boats in Puerto Vallarta we have fished on the secret weapon is a dream. We caught a few(dozen)Skip Jack and a sabodo. Now the sabado will not bite baits or lures so Carlos rigged up an egg weight and tied 4 large hooks together. He casted out across a school whipped the rod back and by God he snagged that sucker. Never seen anything like that before and being the fish was hooked in the side it took about 30 minutes to get it to the boat. Thank you fishing rebels for the fun times

I booked a trip on short-notice (one day before) and Johnny managed to set me up with a fantastic crew that definitely exceeded all the expectations I had.
I spent a couple of hours with Oscar and Manny who had me catching all sorts of fish, laughing and having a good time all day, they showed me how to "Cast-fish" (when this sort of trips are only for Trolling) and prepared some delicious ceviche.
I truly have nothing but good things to say about this Fishing Rebels operation (specially its prices) and will definitely be back soon for longer trips aimed at catching larger monsters.

Went down to PV for a family vacation over the holidays. My dad and I who both love fishing we were on the fence about going fishing leading up to the vacation. Well half way through the vacation Christmas Day actually, we decided to try book a trip. After trying to contact a couple places we learned most the fishing were booked for the rest of week. Obviously our fault for being procrastinators. We ended up contacting Johnny from fishing rebels and he quickly showed us why he has all the awards on trip advisor. He was quick at responding to us even with it being Christmas Day. Next thing you know he found us a boat for an 8 hour fishing trip on Friday the 27th. Not only that he also came out and met us at our resort and gave us a free tshirt and hat after he’d just got done fishing for the day. As for fishing it turned out to be a good day on what seemed to be a slow day for most boats. We wanted to get into some dorado and capt phillipe did just that. We ended up catching 1 dorado and a Bonito. Hooked into a couple other fish as well but ended up losing them. Which that’s fishing so no complaints there. There was lots of whales and dolphins around also so that made for some nice site seeing while we were trolling. If you’re looking to get a on a good fishing boat and want someone that really takes pride on making sure the customer is taken care of Johnny at fishing rebels is the way to go.

I took the 6 hour trip with Johnny and the Captain of the Yazmin. The Captain did an exellent job on the radio finding fish. We were always one step ahead of the other boats on the water. The fishing equipment (8-10 rods and reels) that Johnny provided were top of the line. If you want to catch some fish (3 Bonito and an awesome Jack Crevalle), pay $30.00 more and go with these guys. Johnny and his crew work their ass off and will not let you down.

We chartered the 27 ft boat KATE through Jonni Ocean at Fishing Rebels. Oscar and Manny took us out for 6 hours, which was plenty of time to catch 9 beautiful "bonita" (as Manny and Oscar called them - bonito according to wikipedia). They can meet you at whatever is the nearest public dock. I recommend booking a date online in advance and letting Jonni tell you what is biting that week and how many hours it will take.
My babe and I had a great time taking turns catching these little tuna-like fish. Whale watching up close was a bonus. Manny fileted them out for us on the boat and bagged them in zip-locs. Bring something like a cooler or big bag to carry your fish from the marina.
We had the hotel freeze them for us and brought about 20 pounds of fish home with us.

I booked a 6 hour fishing trip a couple of days in advance in high season, Ticker and Joe were very helpful and diligent to make it happen.
The boat and equipment were very good, the crew was very knowledgeable and accommodating and the ceviche was delicious.
We had a fantastic bonus: whales and dolphin watching in the bay.
We did catch a few small mackerel and some feisty skipjack, and all in all had great fun.
I planned a solo trip and Joe asked if I would accommodate another guest: I’m happy I said yes since it ended up being a great fishing buddy. I got a small discount, but what I didn’t get in cash I got in fun.

Both Jonny & Rodrigo made my 6 hour trip a pure joy. They are both at the top of their game with their knowledge & intuitive skills about saltwater fishing. We boated 6 Bonita + caught several bait fish. We had other hookups which got away. We hammered the boils where Jack Crevalle were feeding beneath the surface - a most exciting spectacle - but they wouldn’t even take live bait. The fresh ceviche was exceptional. I’ve not had a nicer day on Bahia Banderas In 29 years! Breaching whales were the frosting on the cake!

Crew was very courteous and on time ... initially the weather was not so great but improved (very hard to predict that). We did catch some fish and they stayed out beyond the allotted time in order for me to land a fish that took about 45min to bring in ... great time! I would not hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone looking to fish in Puerto Vallarta.

My husband and I enjoy deep sea fishing. We have chartered boats multiple times in Cabo, Costa Rica and Aruba. Fishing Rebels was the most engaging and accommodating tour we have had thus far. Luis and Oscar were amazing to us. They had us on fish within 15 minutes of dropping in the lines. We had a blast from the hour boat ride out of the bay and watching the gorgeous sun rise, to catching 22 fish, eating fresh ceviche prepared on the boat from our catch and seeing whales, dolphins and sea lions. The booking process was effortless and communication was easy. It was a worry free experience from the beginning. You can reserve without any concern and know you will enjoy your time on the boat.

Hey Mate, it says you are from the US, I want to surprise my brother with a 6 hour trip. Just the two of us and I catch Jack all the time in florida will the tuna and or Dolphin be around the last week of May? I also need you to pick us up at the Riu Palace to the north of the docks I think ? I can give a credit card but would prefer Ca$h as you would prefer also right? How much could I get this trip for? I am flexible any morning or afternoon from the 26th to the 29th.
