My wife and I booked 2 full days with low expectation given time of year and recent reports. The plan was to fish hard with hopes that at least one day would pay off. Day one started in the bay where we quickly got into large numbers of Mackerel and Bonita. After landing a handful of fish (with whales putting on a show in the background), we pulled up our lines to move further out into the ocean in search of bill fish and other pelagic species. Day one ended with one great Bull Dorado in the cooler and several close calls with Marlin in our spread but wouldn't commit to the bait. Still an amazing site to see, along with porpoise feeding frenzies we encountered. Day 2 we headed strait to the open water (again with low expectations). Our captain and mate were very positive and worked hard switching up our baits. As luck would have it, their persistence paid off when we came across floating debris where hundreds of Dorado actively feeding. It was on! For a couple action packed hours we were targeting and landing medium to large size fish. The visual site were incredible. The captain and mate worked constantly to adjust our tactics to keep up with the change in bite. After landing 7 Dorado (releasing a few smaller ones), we had plenty in the cooler and opted to leave the action in search of bill fish. While we never found them, we did come across several Skip Jack feeding frenzies. We took the opportunity to cast light spinning tackle with reel-screaming results, which was a ton of fun. Overall, we had a blast with our Captain and mate (who were recommended by Stan based on our pre-trip conversations). My recommendations; communicate with Stan on what you are interested in, trust that he will put together a plan that best meets what you're looking for. That said, fishing is not always catching so be mindful of your expectations, fish hard, and have fun. Can't wait for our next visit and will definitely be booking with Mater Baiters again!…

Booked 6 hr bay fishing with Ben. Good communication and service. Put me on a panga, QUE PASA. Captain Pablo Herrera and mate Jael. Ive been fortunate enough to have fished all over and these 2 young guys are as good as the veteran crews. They had rigs set for every eventuality, so while bottom fishing Pablo spotted a school of Jacks and a minute later he was pitching live bait and we had some nice hookups. Panga and equipment in good shape and theres lots of shade. No bathroom.…

Thanks for the great review Paul, they really said "they" had a great time with you! When it comes to fishing in Puerto Vallarta, there are many world class captains anc crews who grew up af family of fishermen! When you get a Captain at 20 or after, he's got his whole life full of experience and knowledge. Imagine the leg up he has as a captain fishing in PV. That's exactly what Pablo and Joel are, dock raised and tempered... with great personalities. Looking forward to seeing you here again soon in Puerto Vallarta!! And we're working on a new center console for the bathroom... but the porta potty is always there on the boat....

Easy to book, great crew, the Danny D boat was a nice boat, caught a lot of fish, my family had a great time, it doesn’t get much better than that. Fresh ceviche on the boat for snacks saw whales. Thank u guys

I went out with my uncle, friends, and family and had an amazing time. We caught 10 bonito tuna. The crew was very professional, experienced, and friendly. They even prepared fresh ceviche on board wit one of our fish. As an added bonus we saw whales and stingray. Highly recommend them.…
