Captain Manny and his crew were nothing short of amazing. We went for 12 hours, 36 miles from shore. The crew knew exactly where to go to get the big monster fish my husband had been fishing for his entire life. We caught mahi-mahi, skipjack, a sailfish and a monster marlin weighing in at 525lbs, 5’ around and over 10’ foot long! 🤯
They have a beautiful boat that is well equipped, the cuddy is large with space to stretch out on the couches and cool air for a break from the mid day sun. There was cold water, beer and pop on board.
The mahi-mahi we caught was prepared for lunch on the boat and was delicious. Manny has great fishing stories to share and enjoyed hearing about our adventures too. If your looking for a trip of a lifetime and a fish of a lifetime you’ve found your guide! Thank you Captain Manny and your crew for this once in a lifetime day we’ll never forget.

We just had an absolutely wonderful day fishing on the Matador. My family and often go blue water fishing, and due to this, I tend to have high standards for judging Charters. Without a doubt, Manny and his crew are the most professional fishing crew that I have ever been around. These guys are truly driven to catch you fish. Specifically we wanted to pursue tuna, and that is exactly what we did. Manny got us right in the middle of the action quickly, and we were quickly fighting big tuna. Fresh sashimi tostadas on the way back to the harbor was icing on the cake.
Fishing on the Matador was the highlight of my trip, and I will definitely be calling these guys when I return. Cant wait for an 24 or 48 hour trip next time.

Fished with Manny and crew after an exhaustive review of the available charter options in PV. Made the right choice. He and crew are the real deal and accommodated a few last minute changes to our fishing plans to make sure the experience was a favorable one for all. Caught plenty of fish for a book of 7 anglers for a 12 hour booking with very little down time between action. They worked hard to get us on the fish and were realistic about our best options given the conditions etc. There was no fluff here. Will book with Manny again for an overnight trip to target the big game but first outing was right on the mark.

I booked this boat 6 months ahead for a three day trip and the captain did not inform me it was broken until after I got there. I had to scramble to find another boat and never received my deposit back. I am still owed $550 right now. STAY AWAY!

My wife and I just got back from a 10 hour trip with Manny and the El Matador. I can not imagine a better day of fishing or being on the water. The El Matador has to be the nicest boat in PVR! Clean, well equipped & stocked, and an absolutely awesome crew! Manny and the boat were early to pick us up and had a beautiful fresh fruit platter waiting for as we boarded. Explained the boat and all she had to offer and away we went. Off to Corbetania we went, a quick run out with the last five miles trolling. We arrived and Manny put us straight on the fish, I was worried my wife would have the first hook up but we had a double within 10 minutes. The crew was excellent and took care of everything, assisting wherever necessary. Manny knew right where to put us for the bite, too the point that we needed a break. We were wore out at Corbetania, nailing the Jack Carvalle and Red Snapper, left there and trolled to Marietta to search out some Rooster Fish and Dorado.
All in all, you will be thrilled with the El Matador. Great trip on the way in with air conditioning in the cabin and gorgeous views from the fly bridge!

Went out with Manny and his crew aboard the El Matador and really enjoyed ourselves. The crew, boat, and gear are all top notch and we will definitely be using them again next time we are in Puerto Vallarta. Fishing was really good, ended up with a sailfish, numerous dorado, a yellowfin tuna, and a big amberjack. Had a few more short strikes but that's fishing. Manny and his crew did all they could to get us on the fish; we trolled, live baited, kite fished, and chunked.

My friend and I booked a 2-day/2-night fishing charter on El Matador targeting yellowfin tuna. We boated 21 YFT most were caught on surface poppers! What a rush! Captain Manny Ocaranza did an exceptional job finding fish and putting us on them. All Manny's fishing equipment is top quality spooled with fresh line and leaders. He has a fantastic selection of lures and was stocked with plenty of live bait. Deck hand William (Guillermo) assisted in every task and made the trip a real pleasure. William is also a fantastic chef - our charter included meals and everything was nothing short of fresh and delicious. The boat El Matador is in great condition, spotlessly clean and equipped with fantastic electronics. We had a trip of a lifetime. Manny and William are the real deal. They are very serious fishermen and work hard to succeed. They are also very personable and a great time. I highly recommend this charter.

We had a fantastic day on the El Matador with Capt Manny and crew. I highly recommend this charter. The El Matador is a fishing machine with comforts of home. AC in the cabin and good food and drink. We caught a Blue Marlin, 3 Sailfish, 5 Yellowfin Tuna, and saw several sea turtles and thousands of spinner dolphins. Everyone was sore from fighting fish. The weather and fish gods smiled on us this day, plus Capt Manny and crew are darn good at finding fish!

My buddy and I took a 12 hour fishing trip with Manny and crew. Completely professional experience. These guys love to fish, it's very easy to tell. They worked their butts off for us. We experienced all types of fishing. Live bait casting, kites with live bait, bird/surface activity spotting and trolling. We ended up catching 3 very nice dorado and my buddy fought a 200# yellowfin for over an hour but sadly it broke off. The crew cleaned and fileted our catch and recommended where we could take it for cooking. The folks at El Barracuda worked with us and prepared the fish 4 different ways and it was delicious. With the leftovers, we had fish and scramble eggs for breakfast the next morning and my wife usually doesn't care for fish No doubt, we recommend this crew and will be returning to PV to fish with them again.
