Oh my, where to start, well the line for homemade bread and sticky cinnamon buns, they never disappoint. Then the amazing Ixtlahuahuey Cloud Coffee. After this to the homemade pasta and pesto sauce. Fresh raspberries, blueberries, blackberries it is all here, plus so much more. Then of course the chocolate and flowers. So very much more.

On a nice day this market must be a gem.... but on a rainy day it’s a challenge. Came at ten and hid from a sudden downpour under the gazebo with too many others... left when it showered and returned an hour later with the sun out. By then puddles dominated the square making it a mine field.
The usual market fair with no bargains to be had.... but a nice place to browse and people watch!

We were disappointed to find this is not open year round as posted. We were told while looking for it that it closes in April.

Now moved to a nice park in downtown Vallarta. Produce, crafts, bakery goods and more. A lovely way to take the bus downtown, get a coffee and stroll through the market. Always local musicians playing.

Went to this market last weekend, and it was great! We had a cinnamon bun and banana bread...both were delicious. I bought a traditional embroidered dress, my mom bought an embroidered pillowcase, I bought a vintage bracelet. This is a small market, but full of great things and people.
In the slow season they do not sell coffee, so byo if you'd like some with your pastries!

We have been going to the "big" Saturday market on Old Town/PV for several years - at the base of Basillio Badio - a wonderful place with good merchandise and interesting local foods BUT.... this year we discovered the "other" Saturday market open one hour earlier (9AM) - but closes one hour earlier as well -- four blocks further south on Pulpito. Small and more crowded (but justifiably so) with the BEST bagels/muffins, baked goods - baked right there on the premesis as well as incredible sausage sandwiches et.al. Go for it and enjoy yourself!

Well worth your finding this farmers' market near PV's Los Muertos beach. While not a lot of vendors, they are high quality and great values abound.

There is so much to choose from! The samples are abundant. Coffee, bakery goods, huge cinnamon rolls, loaves of whole wheat, white and some yummy sourdough and bagels . There are cheeses, fruits, veggies, honey, sauces from mild to are you sure you can take the heat? beautiful fresh cut flowers, hand-made soaps from Soap Blends, (wished I'd bought more bars of the Mother Earth made with geranium & patchouli) and many many crafts from jewelry to pottery. I'm sure I've missed, at the least, 10 more booths! It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning! Just 1 block east of the 'Blue Shrimp' (perfect for lunch $-$$ ) in south Old Town at the beginning of the Los Muertos area. Or take all those goodies and hit the beach (1 block away) and have your self an amazing lunch! Bring your love of shopping and have fun!!!

The best homemade pickles in PV, silk handmade flowers for my hair, cakes, breads, lots of goodies to purchase! Take your own bag to schlep your goodies home! Good pulled pork (Sunny is now gone from there), but great other food to sit and eat....worth stopping by.

Today I visited the co-op. It's right across from Cocos Kitchen in old town. I was greeted with many people sampling various foods, buying jewelry, handmade soaps, clothing and various other home-made items. I loved it. There sure is a lot there. I practically wiped out the homemade soap guys supply, lol. This is not a huge place to walk around but there is sure a lot of stuff packed in there. Just walk slowly to savor it all. I also liked some baked goods that I purchased to eat on my way back to my hotel. I can't wait to come again another time when we are in PV.

Is the Saturday market open every Saturday? If it lands on Easter, Christmas or New Years - still open?

Check out their website . Hours are 9-1 every Saturday.. Check out the other two markets though. Less touristy and a lot cheaper. First is where the locals go. Close to the airport on the road rusty Erin's alongside Sam's Club about 2 blocks inland. The other is close to old town Villarta . We never made it to that one but ask around. It's where the expats shop.

Good question. Perhaps ask that in the Facebook page: puerto vallarta: everything you need or want to know
I do know they were doing it just after 9 am when we were walking to the gym.

Where should I tell the taxi to drop us off so we will be near the clothes section?
Where will we be close to a taxi to get back to the hotel?
Thank you.

It's a small market in the waterfront park. Just tell the taxi to drop you at the Saturday market at the park. They'll know what to do.

Is it safe to eat locally made foods, considering the problems some people have with the water?

Foods at the local markets are safe to eat. I would avoid street taco stands. Vallarta is one of two cities in Mexico with water that has been certified for 15 years and is as safe as any in the US. Nobody gets sick from Vallarta water, although I can't say the same for alcohol consumption.

Hi, the Saturday Market at the Paradise Community Center has closed due to building issues. The Old Town Farmer's Market closes at 2:00 PM. Sorry, no market for you this Saturday. :(

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico330 contributions
The Saturday Lazaro Cardenas Market is from 9:00 to 2:00.
There is another new Saturday market called 3 Hens and 1 Rooster, Venustiano Carranza #466 that is also on Saturday and some what near the other market.
