We have booked with PV Sportsfishing 4 separate times over the Years. 2 years ago it was a 300lb Blue Marlin for our friend’s first ever off shore fishing trip.
Well, this years charter surpassed any previous trip. 7 Anglers ended the day with 4 Mahi Mahi (ranging from 10-15lbs each) and 6 Ahi Tuna (ranging from 50-80lbs each). A tremendous day for all anglers. None of us had ever caught tuna until this trip with Captain Louis and First mate Abraham. This crew were ON IT! We were all impressed with their teamwork and professionalism. We can’t wait for our next charter with this Crew, Tilichi and PV Sportsfishing.

Chartered the 29' Panga with Capt Scooby and "Chicken" in search of Rooster fish. Unfortunately, we struck out on the Roosters with only one hookup that may have been what we were looking for, but it came off pretty quick. With that being said, we did catch more Cero and Spanish Mackerel than I could count. We basically had tight lines 80 percent of my time on the water with many times having 3 or 4 fish on. Throw in another 3 or 4 large Jack Crevalle to round out the trip. Capt Scooby had a nice selection of live bait for the larger fish and we also caught fish casting and trolling lures. Both the Captain and First Mate worked hard to keep us on fish and the lines baited.
The reason for 4 stars instead of five was that Capt Scooby pointed to a spot that we should try and asked if I could help with more gas money, we would go. I asked how much and he said $50.00 US. I was a little put off by this as I believe I chartered the boat for a certain amount of time, not a certain amount of "distance".
All in all, I would highly recommend Captain Scooby as he definitely knows how to find fish, runs a clean boat and is a lot of fun to fish with

Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review we really appreciate it. Im glad you guys had a good day and caught alot of fish. All of our trips have specific distance they go depending on the amount of hours which is explained on our charter page if captain Scooby took you out further then a normal 6 hr day that means he gave you guys the distance of a 8 hour day at a big discount. So I think you should give him that extra star.

Our second trip with PV sportfishing – always a winner and highlight of our Puerto Vallarta visits. Booking an eight hour trip with Captain Octavio and crew Albert, we enjoyed the long ride out to deepwater where we landed a 7.9 foot sailfish! Bucket list! Can’t say enough about the wonderful captain and crew – fun, extraordinarily helpful, and they went a step further and getting it forgotten, backpack back to us, emits their own heavily booked fishing schedules. This company deserves more than five stars.

My wife and I were gifted a fishing charter with PV Sportfisher for Christmas. We are both avid and experienced East Coast fisherman both inshore and offshore. This was our first experience fishing offshore in the Pacific and the boat, captain and crew did not disappoint!!
My contact was Danny who was very responsive and informative before and during our trip. Once we arrived at the marina we were greeted by 1 of our crew who led us to the vessel. The morning kicked off with a few bull Mahi and ended with 2 Striped Marlin!!!, a first for both us and the first Striped Marlin for the boat for 2023. One of the Stripe Marlin was 103” and estimated 140lbs! We were offered Grays Taxidermy mount services by the crew for the trophy fish and we can’t wait until it arrives in a few months.
I can’t say enough about the captain and crew, now lifetime friends! They were very knowledgeable, courteous, and made sure this fishing trip was a blast!
We will definitely be back next year and I HIGHLY recommend this outfit to all of my friends, family, and anyone looking for a top notch charter boat and crew.

This is our second 6 hour charter with Caesar at PV Sportfishing. A few years ago we got a sailfish and a fair number of mahi mahi. This year the fishing was slow so only one mahi mahi and then four hours later a beautiful 110 lb striped marlin. It was the first time my 28 year old niece was in the fighting chair but the crew were very helpful and encouraging as she battled for 45 minutes to bring it in. Even though the fishing was slow, I doubt anyone in the bay did better than we did. A day on the boat beats one on the beach regardless of how well we did but the marlin was certainly a huge plus. Frankly as much fun to watch as it is being in the chair yourself. Luis cut up the fish for us and gave us as much as we could use so we ate like royalty for the next few days. A lot of fun and we are looking forward to another round next year.

Wow Wow Wow !!!
My wife and I booked an 8 hour trip on the "My Marlin". The online booking was easy and excellent. We were met at the time and place we were instructed to be at. What an amazing trip ! Captain Alberto and First Mate Edwin were fantastic. We were able to see dolphins, watch some hump back whales, and see a sail fish jumping out of the water while we were fishing. The fishing was excellent, we had multiple Mahi Mahi on at a time more than once, and landed an absolute trophy !
Will be back again for sure.

This review is embarrassingly late on my part.
We charted the 32’ Luhrs with PV sports fishing in December of 2020, just my wife and I. Though it was during Covid and not many boats headed out that day, we were determined to bring back fish.
We charted our boat for 10 hours and our crew used every minute of that, and then some to make sure we found fish. We headed out over 40 miles and finally came across a Dead Sea lion in the middle of nowhere. Our crew capitalized on this opportunity and immediately hooked up on a 50+ lb Dorado. One in the ice chest! Throughout our several passes on this carcass we hooked up on two more dorados and landed them as well, 12+ lbs and 35+lbs.
Dorado is my favorite fish to catch and we could not have had a better time. Our crew was outstanding, always working different lures to Change look. The boat was maintained perfectly and we could not have had a better crew and boat.
While making my reservations, Damon was sure to answer all of my questions, making our over all trip one of my best ever.
To close, we were one of the only boats to bring fish in that day. I HIGHLY recommend PV Sportsfishing whenever you visit Puerto Vallarta. As a matter of fact, we just booked another trip with them in November 2021.

Went fishing with Captain Scooby yesterday . Great day! Capt Scooby is a pro and a great guy to hang with.
Had a lot of action right off the start with small Benito’s. Switched to live bait and fishing slowed down for a while but then a double hook up. Caught many small feisty dorado, which we released. Reeling in at the end of the trip hooked the biggest jack of the trip.

I went out with PV Sportfishing on a private charter for 8 hours. We ended up catching about 30 fish (needle nose, bonita, and Jack Cravelle) we lost a rooster but all in all a good day out. Travis and Albert knew where the fish had been biting and made every effort to snatch a fish. Both guys were very welcoming and personable. I went out on My Marlin and would do it again. I come down to PV about 4 times a year and fish each time and this was the by far the most success I have had.

We went on a 4 hour trip with Captain Scooby we caught some mackerel & Bonita on our way out of the marina, and literally within the first 2 hours of our trip we caught a Mahi-Mahi & had hooked 2 sailfish at the SAME time, my fiance and I were both reeling in our sailfish together. It was an awesome experience, scooby & chicken showed us a great day on the water. Had a cooler of ice to put our drinks & food in. And gave us the option to play our own music on the boat. Plus when we were waiting in a different area at the marina they found us and we’re ready for us at 7.
