My boyfriend and I chartered a 28ft panga for a 10-hr fishing excursion. I had emailed Damon through their website, he was informative and had very quick response. When we arrived in Puerto Vallarta I reached out to confirm our upcoming fishing day. The morning of, we met at the marina at 6am and was immediately greeted at the dock. Our crew was Captain Luis and “Chicken Little “ aka “Pollo”. They were absolutely pleasant to spend the day with, and definitely did their best to try to come across some good fish for us. Unfortunately the big guys sail fish/marlins/blue fin didn’t want to come out and play that day... (in their defense, other boats were reporting similar results that day....) BUT! We enjoyed spending the day out on the water, saw cool boils of fish being swarmed by dolphins from below and frigatebirds/pelicans from above. Also saw some sea turtles catching some sun on the surface. They provided sandwiches and water for lunch, but we didn’t know this in advance so ended up bringing our own food/drinks. They have a big cooler so you can bring anything extra you want to consume. Captain Luis and “Pollo” were determined to not let us leave empty handed... on our way back towards the marina we trolled some more closer to shore and BOOM! Out of nowhere a green torpedo came zooming by and we snagged a beautiful Dorado! *Fist pump* After a few “successful day” photos, Pollo cut up the fish and made an AH-MA-ZING ceviche for us to enjoy with some tostadas. YUM!! Can’t think of a better way to spend the ride back to the marina. Thanks for a great experience, Damon, Captain Luis, and Pollo! Bummed we didn’t come across any of the the big fish, but hey, that’s the nature of the sport... that’s why they call it fishing, not catching! Maybe next time!

After doing research on the web prior to going out to PV and then travelling to the dock to see Capt Steve, we only managed to talk over the phone, everything was agreed over the phone and he said Damon would send an email containing a link to pay the $625 deposit for the 12 hour trip, we booked that so we could get out onto the Banks where he said the big fish hang out...got down there for 7am to be met by his brother ??? and two crew “Snake” and “Albert” the latter being a young rookie learning his trade (not what we paid for) we took food as we were told there that was not included, which is the norm, we said we had brought food and was expecting water to be onboard one of our group of three had to go to the shop to buy water !! We boarded and noticed the live well only had about a dozen fish in there, and they didn’t look great, more over they hardly brought on any ice, but hey the gear looked new and up to the task, so we dismissed this also..we got beyond the last marker buoy and expected the skipper to open her up and get us out onto the marks, but no we continued to coast, they weren’t burning more fuel than necessary, they rigged up and we were fishing. after a couple of hours we had a single hook up Mahi Mahi about 5kg, snake filleted the fish and packed them in a small ice box in the cabin no more was caught in that area the capt was up top with Snake 2ic when a bait was taken the lack of attention from those two meant the fish was off, and the rookie re-set the rig. Then snake tells Albert to get the fish out and he commences skinning it on the back of the boat, then bring out a mincing machine and starts pushing this fish through it, there’s fish and cutting boards, prep box etc...all over the back end of the boat (they made themselves lunch, they did ask if we would like some) I’m thinking what if we get a hook up there’s no space to play the fish with all this crap everywhere, but what do you know, we didn’t...we chugged up and down the coastline for a further 8 hours with no bite resulting in a hook up, started back and we caught another Mahi Mahi, and on the troll home a couple small Bonita, you could see the birds diving in multitude but we never went to investigate, he never called another boat to see how their action was....all in all a rank amateur attempt, these people should be put out of business, it’s not good for the sport, the area nor the crew...the $30 tip was all they deserved, can’t say they were happy, but neither were we...the $170 balance stayed in the kitty...no other trip was booked with this “tournament winning” outfit

We took the My Marlin boat out. Captain Steve spoke very good English, his helper had limited English but was an experienced angler who was very helpful and polite. I did feel that they may have taken us on the scenic tourist run, rather than to some good honey holes for fishing. We only did the 4 hour tour, so this may be why. We didn’t catch a thing but a buzz, but could have just been the day/luck. Would have given 5 stars if we even caught something small, but that’s the way she goes.

We would highly recommend this outfit for all your activity excursions in Puerto Vallarta We fished with Scooby and Mario along with snorkelling the following day, these guys work hard to get fish, the 8 hours we booked for fishing was a very slow day for all the boats but Scooby said your not leaving without a fish! True to his words we left the area to get on a mahi-mahi. A fantastic day for the whole family! The following day we went snorkelling, the safety was the most important thing with these guys, Scooby made a lunch with the fish we caught on the prior day! What a fantastic time!! See you guys next year!
